Hello,

We are trying to send an inquiry for our case as we are within the correct time period to do so. On the USCIS website s inquiry form, I am unable to fill out the Form Type field - it doesn t even give any options in the dropdown list. It just says select one . Anyone know what is going on here? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

This is the form I am talking about:

Get K-1 SSN before or after I-485? Maiden or married name?

On the K-1 timeline, it says that we should be applying for a SSN before submitting the I-485 and getting a work authorization. Is that correct? We just got our marriage license in hand yesterday, we made an appointment with the SSA for next week, and we still have not sent in the I-485 (will do that soon).

Do we need to have a work authorization in order to get a SSN? Just wanting some clarity on the sequence of these steps.

Also which name to we put on the SS-5? We already have our marriage license with her married name, but her passport is in maiden her name.

Also what kind of additional ID or paperwork would we need to show for the SSN appointment? The list of items in the SS-5 instructions includes a bunch of US issued identifications, which of course Cintya does not have yet.

Thanks!

Aaron and Cintya.

For the question on the DS-260 application: Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?

What do people put here? My beneficiary is coming from Mexico. How are you supposed to know if you have them in accordance with US law?

Thanks!!!!!

The official Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua Mexico consulate news bulletin claims operations resumed in April 2021 for cancelled appointments due to COVID pandemic, and fully as of June 2021. My Immigrant Visa case was originally filed in 2013, and there have been so many roadblocks, I'm incessantly awaiting progress and approval. The visa applicant case was expedited to the CDJ Consulate back in 2018 and thus I was never given any official appointment letter, only to apply for an appointment through https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv

However I needed to apply for the I-601A waiver first, which was cancelled once because an important evidence request letter back in Jan 2019 was 'undeliverable' and I did not find out until I manually looked up the USCIS receipt. So we refiled the I-601 in June 2019 and was finally approved April 2020. I Immediately filed the DS-260 form and it's complete. Since then I have been looking up on the ais us visa website for an appointment date, but none has come up, even as of today Nov 2021. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. The NVC is no longer involved because my case is at the consulate (expedited before) and last time I contacted them via email (mail contact of any kind has been discontinued, all electronic) they say my case is with the consulate. I have called the AIS Consular IV Support hotline and they say they don't have any appointments available, and to check later. Is anyone having luck at CDJ MEXICO scheduling appointments through https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv ?

DS-260 Question: have you ever been denied a visa to the US

I'm the petitioner for a spousal visa (beneficiary is Mexican and living in Mexico) and am looking at the DS-260 to help my beneficiary fill it out. There is a question along the lines of "have you ever been denied a visa to the US"... Before my spouse was my spouse- ie when we were dating, we tried to get him a tourist visa, but it was denied with a form letter that basically listed a vague set of reasons like "applicant did not demonstrate a sufficient tie to home country"... I assume in this question on the DS260 that they mean any type of visa (including a tourist visa) so I assume the question should be answered "yes" but how are we supposed to explain the why I assume it's going to ask?

Has anyone had to answer in this situation before?

Thanks
