Hi Friends! Long time reader, first-time posting. Hopefully this can help others and provide my wife and I with some answers as well. Question: While applying for a CR-1 Visa, can my wife come visit me in the US? I ve read conflicting information. - Some people say if she is on ESTA, then she can come visit as long as she has a round-trip ticket.
- I ve read places where it says she could be denied entry because she will have an existing immigration visa application processing (I-130)
We just want to be together, so if that involves going back and forth between the US and Japan, that s fine. I want her to stay with me for 60 days, we go back to Japan for a month, and then come back for another 60 days. We will do this until her visa is ready to live in the US. Basic Facts about us: Wife: Japanese Citizen living in Japan Myself: American Citizen living in New Jersey, USA Living Situation: I am currently in Japan, visiting my wife as we just got married. I leave in December. Hopefully she can come visit me in January or February. Status: Married (within the last 30 days) Desire: CR-1 Visa Visa Decision: - We were deciding between the K-1 (fianc e) visa or getting married and filing out the I-130/I-129 to go for the CR-1 visa.
- From many stories and suggestions on this site, we figured what would be best for us is to get married in Japan, and apply for the CR-1 visa.
- We decided to get married in Japan this year instead of waiting until next year, so we can start the visa process.
- The process to get a Japanese spousal visa seems to be a bit easier and less time. So we figured we should start the US process earlier than later.
EDIT: I think I posted this in the wrong section .. sigh ..

We just applied for the K-1 Visa and our petition was sent to the California service center. The following video demonstrates a possible 26 month wait time for applications that are being sent right about now. The argument made in the video is that since more applications are coming in than are being processed, that the current "13.5 month" wait time for just USCIS processing is only for applications that were sent 13.5 months ago. As a forecast, considering the current ratio of applications-in vs. applications-out, this is saying that it would be another 26 months or so for anyone applying now. Does this argument make sense?

Hi everyone, I got n400 interview scheduled and as I filed online I have the letter in my online account. I did not receive anything physical. If I end up not receiving it until the interview date is it ok to just take printout from the online version? Or do they want to specifically see the physical copy they send? basically does asking for this document to be send worth the effort? Thanks!

Hello all, My spouse has been in the US for almost 2 years now. We have moved to another apartment one time, and plan, in the future, to buy a house. I talked to an USCIS agent a year ago, and she said that address changes are not necessary for one who holds a green card. However, this seems contradictory to what I ve read online. Also, my spouse found a Twitter post that was talking about this very topic; someone stated that ICE can become involved if address changes are not reported to USCIS. This Twitter poster stated he/she received an email from the USCIS that verified the address change. So should I fill out an AR-11 form to update our address? The USCIS website makes it seem that this only necessary for pending cases, but now, I m not so sure. Thank you.

Hello, I hope someone can answer my question. I am a US Citizen my Japanese spouse was approved for her IR-1 visa 3 months ago. I got the email from the National Visa Center (NVC) to upload documents and pay the fees. I haven't uploaded anything or paid the fees yet. Our problem is that we will not be ready to move to the USA for a few years because we are expecting another child. So, I need to extend my spouse's Visa application for a few years. Does anyone know how I can do this? Any help with understanding this system would be much appreciated!
