US Immigration from Jamaica

Hi folks!

I have a question about my stepson's petition. My husband (2020 K1 arrival, now permanent resident) has filed for his minor son (17). We included him on his K1, but he wasn't ready to come during Covid, so we put it off a bit thinking that the times (up to 1 year after K1 entered) would extend because of Covid - but apparently they didn't.

So we have filed for him in May 2024. We were bracing for the worst, but are delighted to find that the timeline is sitting at 5 months to be determined according the pending USCIS website! Is that normal and/or reliable? Is there a way to get more information? That puts us out to the holidays for the decision and hoping that we can bring him home for Christmas, starting the new year in America! Or are we just dreaming?

Has anyone else gone through this process after a K1/2 expired AFTER Covid? I would love to hear about those who have been through this. It seems all the other threads under this title are very OLD.

My mother-in-law completed her interview and her medical. They said she needed to get a COVID Booster, but was required to wait ONE MONTH after she completed her medical. She waited a month, emailed them results. When she called to check on the status, they told her that it could take up to 10 days for them to get through the emails because they get "so many a day."

She waited the 10 days and then they told her it can take up to 14 day. It has been almost 2 months. Every time she calls she is either placed on hold or no one answers. We sent emails for an update - no response. If it takes 2 months for them to get the email to verify she took the booster, how long will it take them to send over the results to the Embassy????????

My fiance was arrested in 2006 at 18 years old . He was found not guilty for the assault charge. He was falsly accused. Could be be denied a k1 visa? Can he only get denied if found guilty?

I file a K1 visa for my husband in 2021 and they refuse him, because of controlled substance and they gave 212 (a) (2) (a) (i) (ii), they claim he is inadmissible. we got married in July 2021 of the same year. and I file an I 130 in 2023, waiting on a response, I'm worried if they will denied me again.

Did medical at Andrews Memorial Hospital 15/4 went to interview 24/4. Today Andrews calls stated I should bring $1500 to see the doctor on Wednesday morning. Any idea what s it for?
