Hello folks! We're IR1, DQ'd and awaiting the interview at Mumbai consulate. I am the beneficiary here. Just yesterday, we discovered a weird problem with my birth certificate. Turns out, I don't have one. What I do have is the hospital record of birth, which does not have my name on it. This is what we mistakenly uploaded on NVC and it was accepted. All along we believed it was the original BC and it has always been accepted everywhere as such. I am now in the process of registering my birth (lol) and actually getting a BC, and will probably have it in time for the interview. I intend to take both documents - the hospital record and the BC - to the interview and explain my mistake. My questions are - 1 - Will this be an issue during the interview? 2 - Should I upload the BC on NVC before the interview?

Hello, I recently became a u.s. citizen in March 5th. I had applied for passport and I have expedited my passport so that I can be with my wife. She has been living alone for 5 years now. We have been documentarily approved since January 2020. I just recently asked my boss if I can travel to india to be with my wife since she is alone. My boss replied that the company does not allow remote work offshore and this is against corporate policy irregardless of employees situation. My wife cannot live alone anymore and she cannot risk living in someone else s house during Covid. If I leave my job, I will face extreme financial hardship. I have a house for $650k and my monthly mortgage is $3.4K. By losing this job, I will ultimately burn through my funds while risking a default on my loan and my home could be seized by the bank. I have bought the house with my brother but he alone cannot afford the mortgage on his salary if I lose this job. On this grounds, could I expedite my wife s case? If I leave to support her, I will lose my job and fear losing my house. This has caused me terrible anxiety and I am medication to deal with the stress.

Do translations of civil documents need to be notarized for the interview at Mumbai consulate? It says so on the travel.state.gov website but we only submitted a translator's certificate without notarization at the NVC stage and were successfully DQ'd. If yes, could we just get it done by any notary? Any advice?

| Weird Problem while Updating Form i-864 |

So, we were DQ'd back in October 2021 and are now awaiting the interview at Mumbai consulate. However, our financial circumstances have considerably changed since we submitted our documents to NVC and it's time to update Form i-864. But there's a weird problem when we try to do this. In Part 5 - Sponsor's Household Size - Points number 1 and 8 come pre-populated with the number 1 and we cannot change them. We're getting the wrong household size and we don't know how to fix this. We did not face this issue when we last submitted the form. We tried downloading the form from different websites but it doesn't work. Any ideas what the matter could be?
