US Immigration from India

I thought I d give the Ask Emma feature a try on the USCIS website. It did confirm the service center that my case is being processed at. It also mentioned that an officer was reviewing my case on February 6 2023. I m not sure how accurate information is from this chat feature. Any experiences or opinions would be appreciated.

My Fiance has her K-1 Visa interview next month. God willing she will get approved and she will come here in April. If we applied for the adjustment of status, how long will she have to wait to get the green card?

Wanted to get an idea of the processing times because I have googled it and gotten numbers from 9 months to 27 months....

So I have finally booked the interview for our K-1. Only two things left: Medical exam(already booked an appointment) and Police Clearance Report.

It says very clearly in the instructions from the consulate: "Step 2: Obtain your police clearance certificate from the regional passport office"

So my fianc went to the Regional Passport Office and they said to go passportindia.gov.in and file online.

I go online and filled the application, paid the fee and booked the appointment. My Fianc lives in Kolkata and the location for this interview appointment cannot be made at the Regional Passport Office(RPO) as stated in the instructions from the Mumbai Consulate. The RPO doesn't offer PCC service and you have to book the appointment at PSK - Kolkata. So I did that.

I wanted to ask if this wold cause any issues at the K-1 interview, has anyone else went through this?

No issue. USCIS, NVC, and the consulate won't care that you filed US taxes. What matters to US immigration is that your USC petitioner filed taxes for the 3 most recent tax years at least.

Hi my husband is US citizen and I am a non resident currently living in India. We recently submitted our documents in NVC and expecting DQed by mid march 2023 and then interview at Mumbai consulate by 0ct-nov 2023. My husband is considering filing his taxes 2022 as single until I enter USA and get my SSN. Would his decision really harm our immigration process in any ways?
