About to file N-400 | Discrepancy on Greencards

Hey,

I was getting my N-400 papers ready since June 27th of this year, Germany will finally allow dual citizenship again without needing a permit from the German government.

When it asked me on the form to submit my resident since -date I noticed that on my current 10 year Greencard it says I became a resident in 2020. Going by that date I wouldn t be eligible to become a US citizen yet. That is not true though. I became a lawful permanent resident in 2018. My conditional 2 year Greencard shows the correct date.
Am I going to run into issues if I apply now submitting a picture of my current Greencard which shows the wrong date? (Please see picture of both cards)

Any advice is appreciated.

N-400 based on 5-year rule - do I not need marriage certificate etc?

Hi everyone,

I've been eligible to apply for citizenship for a while (entered in 2016 based on CR-1), but am only now getting to it, so I'm filing under the 5-year rule. I've barely been out of the country (traveled twice for a total of under 2 weeks).

Am I tripping that under the 5-year rule, I don't need to submit our marriage certificate, and - sadly - my spouse's death certificate, but instead just my GC and the tax transcripts?

I think I'm otherwise good to go on the paperwork, it's all filled in, but the evidence to be submitted under the 5-year rule is weird to me, considering all the papers we sent for ROC etc.

Thanks in advance!

Hi all, just filed my n400 online and received a receipt number starting with IOE978. I've only seen receipt numbers starting with IOE09, so I was wondering if anyone else got the same one and what it means?

Thanks

Between November 24th 2020 and December 26th 2021 I had two job assignments in Germany, one for about 3 weeks and the other one for 12 month. During this time I traveled 3 times back to the US:

Hence, I have spent extensive time outside the US during that period.

So all in all, between November 24th 2020 and December 26th 2021 I spent 361 days outside the US. But I was never outside for more than129 consecutive days.

Still I am not sure if I qualify for naturalization when I apply now.

On the positive side I can demonstrate that:

(A) I kept a part time job in the US that I could do remotely.

(B) My daughter stayed in the US during this time (but not at my house).

(C) I have retained full access to my house in the US (and kept car, bank account, insurances, filed taxes, etc.).

On the negative side I must say that:

(D) I did obtain other jobs while abroad in Germany.

All other requirements are in good standing.

Should I try it and apply now? Should I rather wait? If I wait, should I wait until January 2027 to have this period completely out of the way?

Hi,

I filed for I-751 in 2022.
I got an extension letter for my Greencard/ Residency that extends my Greencard until August 7th 2024.

Then just now my I-751 got denied after 2 years with the reason of it being filed prematurely.
They said in the letter I should refile another I-751.

Which I did immediately. I filed a new I-751, on may 11th, but what s my status right now?

Is the first Greencard still valid with the extension?

I m supposed to travel to Europe June 3rd - August 4th and I almost don t dare to ask but can I even do that?
would they let me back into the country?

I never thought there could possibly be problems but here I am.
Thank you for your help!

P.s. USCIS answers no questions.
