US Immigration from Gambia

Hi everyone, today I had my U.S citizenship interview and I got approved.

Because ready, other people stories has been so helpful for me, I feel I have a duty to share my case, hoping that it would help other people.

I also want to acknowledge that everyone's experience is unique, and my situation may not reflect the norm.

I applied for my removal of condition more than 2 years ago, but never got an interview date. In the time between, I got divorce, then applied for N400 when I became eligible after 5 years. I also got several traffic ticket.

After I got divorce, I did not refile an I-751. I sent a letter to the USCIS with a copy of my divorce decree, and I requested my I-751 to be converted to a waver.

I never heard back from them.

On my N400, I mention that I got traffic tickets.

I was not said that I will have a combo interview. My online I-751 status never changed. I remained, "case ready to be schedule for an interview."

I also had no copy of any document that I submitted along my I-751.

The day of my interview, I had only the interview letter, my passports, my green card, and my state ID.

The officer was very friendly, it felt like I was talking to a friend. He requested all documents that I mentioned above.

He mentioned that we will start by the I-751. He asked me " did you enter in your marriage in a good faith? I said "yes".

Then he said " you got divorce, what happened, the marriage didn't work out?", I said "yes".

Then he moved to the N400, starting by 6 questions, then a sentence to read, and finally one to write down.

Finally, he went through my application, then ask about the citations. He wanted to see the payment receipts.

I told him that I have kept no receipt, I paid them as soon as I got them.

He printed the N-652 and told me "Congratulations, you are approved, you will receive a letter for the oat ceremony convocation."

And that was it! very straight forward, the officer was super friendly, so were the other officer that I saw on my way out.

I hope this help those that I am waiting for their interview dates. And thank you again for all the people who contribute to this forum and make this place an amazing resource for immigration information.

Oh last note...I have never used a lawyer, just this website.

Is anyone that was approved early November 2023 still waiting on a case number? Or anyone recently waited over 45 days for it?
