Hi everyone! We received a letter saying my AOS application was denied earlier today. The interview back in August went well, and my combo card was in the mail the week after. We did however received an RFE for Birth Certificate shortly after. We were confused as to why they would request my BC since they already had it, but decided to send an original copy of my BC along with an official translation from my hometown in France. The form itself is in French but it is translated into 10 different languages. Turns out this document wasn't good enough and USCIS now considers my application to be abandoned. I should have provided a complete translation and certify it myself. The first thing we did was getting in touch with an attorney who agreed to meet us tomorrow. If I'm not mistaken, we have the possibility to either file I-485 all over again or ask for a Motion to Reopen or to Reconsider using form I-290B. If I choose to file MTR, my presence may become unlawful between the moment I submit I-290B and the moment they agree to reopen. That's a risk I'm not willing to take. Did any of you follow this path? If so, how did it go and how long did it take? The other option would be to file for AOS again. The denial letter states that my EAD will be revoked within 18 days of the notice unless I submit proof that my I-485 remains pending. The wording here confuses me. Does that mean I can keep working without interruption if I decide to fill a new I-485? If not, will I have to wait one more year or more as I did after submitting my original I-485? Again, I'll be in touch with a lawyer tomorrow, but it would be very helpful to get some advice, feedback, or to read similar experiences from you guys. Hopefully, this post can also help applicants who just got an RFE for their birth certificate. Thank you!

Today is one of those days when I am sooo tired about how long this process has been. im so tired of reading that people that have applied a year after me are getting scheduled for interview for no good reasons. Same field office but just different luck I guess.. anyway, if nothing change I should be able to expedite based on my priority date being up. i don t want to waste some month because I know all to well they a normal expedite lead nowhere. I did two of them last year for my ead and the never bothered replying to it. can someone who s had a positive story of expediting with Congress person explain how they did it? i know this might not even work but I want to try, my next step will probably be to book an info pass appointment at the field office directly to ask what in the work they could be doing. my PD is may 4th 2020 and field office is San Antonio. I m adjusting based on marriage to a us citizen.

Hi my sister in law's brother filed for her and their brother and 3 of their sisters to come to the US. He is a citizen. They requested documents from him for them 10 years ago, after they approved the I 130, I found out that he never sent the documents needed and he changed his mind bringing them here to the US but he keeps telling them that there case will be done soon. The request for those documents expired. Does that mean they cancelled there case? My question is can they reapply again or is there file still active? How can we check on it if he was the petitioner. Thank you for your time

Hey everyone, thanks for any ideas. My wife was just denied her Driver's License renewal because she doesn't have any new documents since the last renewal, 6 months ago. Her EAD is set to expire this month. We submitted a renewal months ago and still haven't gotten any update. Calling USCIS they told us its still within the window of processing. It wasn't a big deal because as long as you filed your renewal on time (which we did) they automatically extend your EAD 6 months while waiting for processing. However, this has now impacted her ability to get a new driver's license. The letter from USCIS saying her EAD is extended 6 months during processing technically doesn't have dates on it, just a statement of the extension. And the DMV said there is nothing they can do since she doesn't have any proof of extension. Does anyone have any ideas we can use to extend her DL while we are waiting on AOS and EAD renewals or is she just not going to be able to drive? We are in Utah by the way. Thanks
