US Immigration from England

Hi all,

While not a new member here my previous scrolling didn't get past the CR1/IR1 timelines sub pages, only recently ventured further down the forum pages as we're hopefully getting closer to the NOA2 notice (just hit the 300 days in milestone).

My wife is the USC from just outside of Detroit Michigan and I'm from the North East of the UK

We met online around 6 years ago and finally got to meet in person as soon as the covid restricted travel was lifted from the US to the UK in 2021, then several US holidays later (and a proposal) we decided to get married, we knew the process would take a while and didn't want to continue the long distance relationship so last year my wife entered the UK on a fianc visa and we married in May, we then updated her visa to UK spouse visa so that we could stay together through the US visa process.

We've had a few more trips to the US to look at where to relocate but initially we're going back to Michigan so that we can be with friends and family for a while before venturing further, I work in a remote IT role for a global company and currently it looks like my current role may be made available in the US for me so hopefully we may be able to hit the ground running when we land.

I created a N-400 March 2024 thread because I didnt see one. If one exists, please let me know and I can delete this one.

We would like to send this soon, but the last thing we have to finish is our cover letter. Can you please let me know the following questions and feedback on the document or our document list? We are sending this online but thought this would be a nice to have. My husband is applying and is British.

1. How do I confirm field office for Chicago? Is it the same location where we had our first green card interview together?

2. I have seen people on various cover letter use MSC to identify their case, but I only have our Lin and what I saw on our 48 month extension letter.

should i put the uscis address in my city of chicago?

Hi all,

I have my spousal Visa approved and will be entering the states soon.

Is it legal for me to start sending in job applications saying I have the right to work? I'll be free to work once I enter the country and would like to get myself on a few radars!

So long story short, I ve never had a job before and currently do not have one as I have been focusing on my education my whole life. My fianc is in the UK and I m in the US. I live with my grandmother and mom, to which my grandmother agreed to be a joint sponsor. My question is is it going to be an issue that I ve never had a job before? No employer, never filed taxes etc. What do I put down on the I-129-F form for example where it says employment history/current employer ? I don t want them to think we can t provide for him to live here and immediately decline because I put down NA or something. Should I put down student? Since my grandmother is going to be the joint sponsor, would she handle all the details about financial information when it comes to that point? This is all so much to process and learn about, and im still learning a lot but it s very overwhelming and I wanted some advice from here and different opinions. I have more than enough money in savings which is another reason I ve never had a job, so I do have enough to support over time just not a current income.
