Hello everyone, thank you in advance for this helpful community.

I am a USC who lived in Egypt for the last 14 years.

My husband (not a USC) and I met in Egypt in Jan 2018, and married in May 2019, in a wedding celebration in Egypt, attended by both our families.

Before we met, my husband already secured a B1/B2 visa for tourist purposes, to visit the US, and it was granted by the US Embassy in Cairo in February 2018.

Our life and home is based in Egypt, and we have not submitted any immigration petition or paperwork at all so far, as we have not made any plans to immigrate to the US and were unsure where we would settle in the coming few years.

After Covid-19 hit, our life changed a lot, our professional demands slowed down as my work is now remote (and he works in the public sector, which has been quarantining and keeping employees at home, most employees are furloughed), and we decided with this free time to come to the US for a few months, so my husband and I could spend this down-time with my family here. We arrived to the US in mid-December and our return tickets back home to Egypt are reserved for the first week of May, as my husband's current B1/B2 allows him a max 6 month stay.

Lately, I'm wondering if it's possible that we could settle here, and manage his immigration case from here, without returning to Egypt to do so.

If I decide to stay in the US., I think it is possible that I could file an i-130, and my husband an i-485, so that we could adjust his status from B1/B2 to becoming a LPR, ideally doing the entire process from here, rather than returning to Egypt and starting the process from abroad. Is this correct?

If I begin this process now, will I have enough time for the paperwork to be sorted before our return flight in May?

Thank you all for your help, this is kind of overwhelming and I don't want to make any mistakes :)

I filed AOS for my parents, & I am US Citizen. This included Form I-485 & I-765. I noticed that I overpaid the amount. My parents are here and their visa expires day after tomorrow. Not sure if USCIS will reject because of overpaying the case amount? if so, what to do. On March 6th they will be overstaying, so I will not be able to re-submit the AOS if the case was rejected.

Im so depressed right now. I got the unfortunate email my husband visa has been revoked Im just waiting for the letter to come in the mail on why it was revoked. The embassy sent the case back to the US and I thought I addressed all the rebuttals with evidence in the NOIR response but I guess that was not good enough for them. I just feel like a failure or maybe just bad luck. We've been waiting for over 3 years for his visa. And with Covid I could not travel last year to see him. My last resort is consulting a lawyer and see what our options are. Anyone else can offer some advice or words of encouragement. The visa situation has been the most stressing situation I have ever dealt with in my life. I never thought it would be so difficult. :(

Need some help in deciding

Hello everyone,

i hope someone can shed some light or help me to make a decision.

i have a travel plan to visit my family specially my father who is very sick, i did not travel for the last 2 and half years, i have my new baby which is also their only and first grandchild, he wish so much and fear something might happen to him before seeing his grandson plus i am so afraid not to travel and something happen to him. I was planning to travel beginning on March, now i received my interview for the citizenship to be on March 17.

i dont know what to do. I can to to the interview but i know the ceremony takes up to 120 days. I am in Virginia and will be in Norfolk office, and according at least to one person here on the forum there was no oath ceremony for him same day, looks like its more for states like California.

if i postponed my ceremony how long it takes to reschedule, i dont mind taking longer, actually i hope it takes long time so it gives me time to travel and come back. I know i can reschedule max 2 times and if i missed second time my application will automatically be denied. Can i travel and come back even for a quick visit to just take the ceremony and then go back to my family? I am just trying to find ways. I was planning to stay with my family 3 to 4 month max since i did not see them for more than 2 years and for them to spend time with their grandson.

hopefully will have some opinion and thanks for your time.
