Hello, I have a question about changing my name after submitting the I-130 paperwork with my husband. We found out that I can change my last name for my husband's and I would like to do that. I know we can wait for the naturalization certificate or the interview to obtain the green card, but I would prefer that I do it before all of that. So that I don't have to do any legal name changes and spend money on obtaining new copies of my documents, with the name change, later. So my question is this: What are my options for changing my name? thank you very much for your help!

Hello, all. My husband and I recently received word from the NVC that he has been approved for an interview. The process has taken so long for us that several changes have occurred in our lives as we wait. That leaves us with two questions as we prepare for next steps: - Job Change for me (sponsor/petitioner): We submitted our paperwork to the NVC last fall, which means I used my 2020 W-2 for proof of income. I changed jobs about a month ago. Salary is almost exactly the same. Do we need to notify anyone of this change, mention in his interview, submit new paperwork, or otherwise? Or do we do nothing? Maybe it only matters if the process continues into 2023? (because my 'most recent' W-2, 2021, still reflects my old job)
- Passport Change for JP (beneficiary/applicant): My husband recently had to update his passport because it was about to expire. The number is different from the one provided in all past paperwork. Does he need to provide the updated passport to any agency? And if so, how/when should this be done? At the interview?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello, all. My husband and I recently received word from the NVC that his paperwork was accepted and that his interview will be scheduled soon. We were married in December 2019 and began the process of filing for a CR-1 Visa shortly thereafter. Fast forward 2.5 years of delay after delay and we are now approaching our 3 year marriage anniversary. Since 2+ years of marriage would qualify us for an IR-1, what does this mean for us once his interview is complete and visa is issued? Some cursory reading I did gave me the impression that it will be converted automatically when he arrives to the US, but I wanted to confirm this. Do we need to do anything on our end to make sure that conversion happens? Should he ask during the interview? Obviously we would greatly prefer to obtain the IR-1 since it would save us some money and time removing the condition for his green card in the future. Any and all thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!

Thinking about attending my Colombian fianc s interview when it is scheduled. There is a 30 year age difference. That being said we have been together for about 17 months and I have been to Colombia 2 times and we vacationed 2 times in the DR. Has anyone attended the interview? I'm thinking with the age red flag it could be good or it could be bad for me to attend. Thanks in advance.

Hola! Gracias
