Can I apply for a student visa if I am waiting for I-130 approval?

Hello everyone.

Hope you are doing fine.

My husband filled out and sent the I-130 form on September 3. Recently, I had the opportunity to connect with a research/teacher from a USA university. She may propose I start a Ph.D. program and research with her. For now, it's a possibility for the fall semester of 2023, but if the time comes and I don't have the approval for i-130, is it possible to apply for a student visa? or the fellowship is a possible reason to expedite? what happens if the I-130 is approved but that time but it's still in NVC, is it possible to expedite in that case?

All of these are assumptions, but I want advice for it. Thank you.

Applying for citizenship - 3 year rule

Hello. I filed for ROC in December 2020. I was assigned to the Potomac service center. Haven t heard anything yet. I received my green card March 2019 and technically I am eligible to apply for citizenship now. However, me and my husband lived in different cities for 9 months due to work (we submitted all the evidence for the ROC to support that we were still married and seeing each other multiple times a month). Since the 3-year rule states that you have to live for the past 3 years with the US citizen, would it be recommended to apply for citizenship now since we lived in different cities for 9 months? We have continuously been married and have all the evidence.
thank you

Helped Asylee and went bad - would this affect Immigration Status?

Hi,

My husband has 7 years living here in the US as a Permanent Resident. We originally filed for the K1 visa and have been almost all the way through the process - the next step is citizenship! An old friend of ours came to the US through the entry point illegally and was detained by I.C.E, he applied for asylum as he qualifies for it. My husband offered to let him live with us while he was awaiting to present his case for asylum or be deported (whichever happens). We let him stay with us and he reported his residence to I.C.E. as our home address. Then, the guy had 2 of his friends come up here the same way without telling us! When the 2 friends entered the U.S. the guy reported OUR ADDRESS to I.C.E. as their place of residence too. We had a discussion with the guy and he ended up leaving the house to get an apartment or hotel or place to stay with his two friends instead. He no longer lives here - I'm not even sure where he lives now.

Now that 3 asylee applicants used our address for I.C.E., does anyone know if that somehow affects my husband's process for citizenship? My husband was hoping it doesn't look bad on us or look like we helped people enter and then they disappeared. I know this is a rare situation but if anyone has any insight, let me know.

Also, please be kind in the comments. The friend we helped was a friend for many years - we didn't know he was helping 2 other people come behind our backs and then leave. He let us stay with him and his family many years ago when we were in his home country and we kept in touch over the years. Throughout my husband's immigration process we sent the friend money when he needed it. Now he owes us a bunch of money and is gone. To say we're surprised is an understatement but what worries us more is that it could somehow look bad on us when my husband applies for citizenship.

My wife just passed her citizenship test!!! But they did not mention anything about her 12 year old son. I thought he would automatically get citizenship as well. What is the process for him? Or did I miss something?
