US Immigration from Colombia

My girlfriend, 27/F/Colombia and I, 32/M/USA, have sent the I-129f petition in January 2025 and are awaiting a response. My question is the following:

She worked in a legal retail cannabis store for about 3-4 months as a keyholder/front of store employer when she was living in Canada before moving back to Colombia and starting the visa application from there. She does not have any other continuing ties to the cannabis retail sector. We are aware that it remains a Schedule 1 drug in the USA federally. Would this former work experience in the cannabis retail sector affect her ability to receive approval and admission to the USA

My wife just got emails from the embassy regarding the upcoming appointments for she and her daughter. They appear to be auto-generated emails and state that the cases are incomplete, and are prompting that divorce records need to be uploaded for both she and I. However, neither of us had previously been married. She does have a child from a previous relationship who is immigrating with us, but she and her daughter's father were never married. Anyone know what's going on? I emailed the embassy asking for clarification, but thought I would ask here as well hoping for some peace of mind!

My wife just got her interview appointment date in Bogota and is now scheduling the medical exams. Unfortunately other than COVID and Yellow Fever, she doesn't have any records of her childhood vaccinations. She believes she received them as a child, but never had a vaccination card. I'm understanding she'll need to receive them from the doctor completing the medical examination. Has anybody else been in this situation, and did it cause any delays? I'm concerned that with timelines of some vaccinations, boosters, etc, it may not be complete prior to her visa interview on September 3. I'm hoping that I'm worrying unnecessarily.

I'm looking for helpful advice. My Husband just received his appointment for naturalization (August 1, 2025). We've only been preparing for his interview the past few days as the notice just came, it was delivered to a address a few blocks away from our home by mistake. I'm genuinely freaking out however because of an error I made.

For background, he arrived in the US on June 4, 2019, he was 25 years old at the time. We were married on July 17, 2019 I knew it was my responsibility to register him with the Selective Service, but never did so. On August 5, 2019 shortly after our honeymoon, my Mother died and to make things worse my husband thought he killed her. He cooked dinner for her the day before her death and he was wracked with guilt. By the time things settled down from our marriage, honeymoon and my mothers unexpected death, my husband turned 26. (December 14, 2019) Covid 19 was upon us and registering for the Selective Service was the last thing on my mind. (It was a crazy time)

I'm really afraid that my error is going to cause problems for him during his interview. On the N-400 application,

Question # 22a states: Are You are a male who lived in the United States for anytime between your 18th and 26th birthday I answered (YES)

Question # 22b states: If you answered Yes to question 22a, did you register for the Selective Service? I answered (NO) Both answers to 22a & 22b are truthful.

The instructions for N-400 further state: If you answered No to 22b and you are:

31 years of age or above (or 29 years of age or above if you are applying based on being the spouse of a U.S. citizen)

My husband is now 31 and applying for citizenship based on his marriage to me a US citizen.

N-400 instructions state: Then, you do not need to provide a statement explaining why you did not register or a status information letter from the Selective Service.

As I read the letter of the law, it would seem we are ok with having mistakenly not registered with the Selective Service and further do not need to explain why. But, I am really worried all things considered that this may present a problem for my husband. Any thoughts, ideas, reassurances or suggestions would truly be appreciated.

New here and first post. First, want to thank everyone who has contributed to all the great info found here. It has been so helpful while deciding on whether to apply for the K-1 visa.

I (US Citizen, the Petitioner) am just now starting to gather documents for the I-129F, and I'm planning on filing the next time I visit the US in a couple of weeks. I am currently in Colombia on a visitor visa, and I'm trying to gather everything I need from my fianc before my next visit to the US to file the I-129F.

So far I have (2 copies of each):

1. Passport style photo
2. Her Signed Letter of Intent to Marry within 90 days of arrival
3. Copies of passport stamps from her and my passport that show that we arrived together when traveling to other countries over the past couple years

She was never previously married, no criminal history, and never changed her legal name. For proof of having met and ongoing relationship, we have photos, plane tickets, email/chat histories, apartment rental agreements with both our names on it, etc.

Is there anything else I need from my fianc for the I-129F before I leave for my trip to the US?
