For the AoS , if the petitioner needed a joint sponsor at the initial filing but now from late 2020 and 2021 the petitioner is earning enough to support his beneficiary alone. Would a joint sponsor be needed ? My issue is that when I first filed I needed a joint sponsor but now I have steady income but I haven't filed my taxes yet for it . The income is more than enough but the taxes won't show it for last year. Can you show them current and passed paystubs , or is a joint still needed?

We recently submitted a FOIA request to the US Department of State for our submitted DS-160 forms (which we didn't save) so that we can make sure that they are consistent with reality and our I-130/I-485 (in preparation for an AoS interview). For personal information from the Department of State, the FOIA request must be either by mail or fax, and must either have a notarized signature or a signed statement that the information is correct (we did both). I've not been able to find any examples online of these FOIA requests, so I'm attaching what we wrote here. If not notarized, you must include a copy of an un-expired government-issued ID. The envelope should say "Freedom of Information Act Requst" We included copies of the visas and passport info page. We tried to include as much info as we had which would help them locate the records. If anyone has tried to get a DS-160 copy, were you able to get it? How long did it take?

Hi, everybody, I have some questions to ask. Here is my experience. I was supposed to get green card interview on March 2nd 2021, which is today, but around 4 yesterday afternoon, I received a call from Seattle field officer who told me they had to cancel my interview because they didn't have some paperwork ready for my interview. I was really confused and asked if they would reschedule it, they said they would send letter to my P. O, BOX later but they didn't tell me when. Anyway, here is the thing I'm really confused about. My I-485 was Submitted on March 12, 2019. and I've been waiting for green card interview for a long time. Some time in August 2019, my case status is like "August 7, 2019 We are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, for an interview", then of course because of pandemic they had to close field office( I found it out after making numbers of phone calls)for something like 6 months which has caused thousands cases delayed. my question is if I-485 gets expired, of course my medical examination and vaccine record( I-693) will need to be redone which I'm not worried. My only concern is I-485, does I-1485 expire? I even called USCIS this morning to find out if I-1485 expires. The officer told me it wouldn't for my case. So I'm hoping someone in here can help me with my question. Thank you so much for it.

So we did a very dumb thing and basically my wife started her I-485 adjustment of status but left the country without first receiving the AP document. Now she is stuck in China and one lawyer suggested to us that we can try to get an emergency visa appointment at the consulate and perhaps she can come back on a tourist visa. Just wondering if anyone had any knowledge/experience of getting an emergency visa under these circumstances? BTW our son is here in the US while she is stuck in China, will this help her at all getting a visa for humanitarian reason?

We recently had some great news that our i129F was approved. It was originally received June 2020. My fianc just realized we misunderstood the physical address question for the last 5 years. We put her parents address from from 2014-2019, and 2019-current her present mailing address. It Looks like we made an error. She did not include that in 2015 she also lived at her university, and spent a few months on a study Abroad in the USA. In addition, when we first met in China, she was traveling between home and a hotel in the city I lived in. She was training for a new job, and the training was in my city. This was included in the story about our relationship, but the actual address was not given. Can this effect the k1 interview or later, the green card application? If so, is there anything we can do now that the package is on the way to nvc? Thank you for your suggestions
