EAD Approved Same Day as Biometrics?? Mistake?

Hi all,

So we got our biometrics notice about 2 or 3 weeks ago in the mail and went to the actual appointment yesterday. When we got back home, we checked online to see if there was an update and there was, they had changed the status to "Actively being reviewed by USCIS". The next morning (Today), my wife received an email saying there was an update, and we thought it was the same one we saw yesterday, but when we signed on, it said the card was being produced! We looked at the documents and saw there was the approval notice that was posted yesterday, the same day as our biometrics appointment, saying that we will receive the card in 7-10 days.

So now we're wondering if this is a mistake or if anyone has had a similar experience? Mostly asking because our AP status has not changed at all and we filed them together. Or if we'll be receiving two different cards for EAP and AP?

i-130 and i-864: do I submit both together?

I (F, Greencard holder) want to start applying for my husband's (M, Visa B2) Greencard process.

We are aware that we should start with i-130. However, for now I don't have enough means to become the only sponsor to him. Hence, my husband's stepfather (former Navy, American citizen) is willing to become a joint sponsor.

Do we submit everything at once? Or only when requested? I am a bit confused.

How to answer DS160 question about visa denied?

Hi Everyone!

So, to provide some context, I got my first american tourist visa when I was 14, then I renewed when I was on my 20's.

I traveld many times to USA in the past 20 years, always as a tourist.

I met my fiance almost 3 years ago when we were both on vacations, in another country. We started to date long distance and I went 3 times visit him, and he came around 6.

On August 2021, my B1/B2 visa expired and we didn't have applied for the K1 yet, so I went ahead with the process of renewing my tourist visa. My interview took place on December 2021 and my visa was denied under the section 214B.

A little later we applied to the K1 visa, and since it will take a long time, I decided to try the tourist visa again.

I went filling th DS160 form and got to the question: "Have you ever been refused a U.S visa?". And I don't know what to put on the "Explain" box. Just say that I got denied to a B1/B2 visa under the 214B section? Should I explain anything else? Should I mention that I had a tourist visa valid before? Should I defend myself saying that I didn't have any intentions of immigrate ilegaly?

The following question is "Has anyone ever filled an immigrant petition on your behalf?" Should I say "NO", as a I129F is not a immigrant petition? Or should I say yes, and explain what kind of petition is? If I say no, should I mention the I129F anywhere at the form?

Sorry if those questions have been already answered here, but I couldn't find.

Thanks for the help!

How to prepare to moving - Savings, plans, steps

Hi everyone!!

So, I was reading this thread

Cause it's something that really worries me... We applied for the k1 (yeah... I know.... and as many of us here, I wasn't aware of the many, many cons), and we are waiting for the NOA2.

I'm the beneficiary, and I worked all my adult life. A lot.

Also, I've been married before. I got married very young (first year of college) and earned my financial independence over the years, as I grew professionally. So, it was a natural course spliting the bills and life costs. It's really hard to see myself having to go back on those...

As I was reading the recommendations, I was thinking:

- How you guys prepared financially and professionally for the moving? Did the beneficiary had savings?

The schools, hobbies, and all that, have costs. I don't feel comfortable doing those things on the expenses of my fiance... And I think that could be a very stressful issue for us. Specially not knowing how long it will take to have my EA...

- Did the moving changed the dynamic of the relationship? In terms of the petitioner feeling overwhelmed to support the spouse for, maybe, years, or the beneficiary feeling trapped because of the limitations

- Is there anything I should be aware or could do in advance to prepare myself to a better and easier transition? I'm a very independent woman, and I think would be really hard to have to rely on my fiance for every little thing...

- Has the "money talk" been stressfull during the AOS time? What usually are the expectations of the petioner (asking in terms of cultural differences)? Like, is expected the one staying at home doing all house work, cooking, cleaning?

Sorry for the long post. Of course I've talked with my fiance about all of that many times. But it's hard to know the reality before living it.

So, any advices and sharing experiences are very welcomed!!
