Only administration can delete an account but you can change your user name for yourself, (unless you have changed it several times already; there is a limit on how many times you can change your name).

You do that by going to the upper right hand side of the page where it says your user name, there is a link below that says "Settings". Click on that. It will open up a page entitled 'OPTIONS'. The third option on the left hand side is 'change display name'. Click on that and it will ask you for your new user name and your password. Click on Save Changes after you enter your new name and password, and you have a new user name.
