i think i made a mistake on question 22 of I-130. the question clearly states, complete this information if your relative is in the united states and will apply for adjustment of status. right below there is a question, if your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at blah blah blah...

basically, i failed to enter anything in there...do you guys think this is going to be an issue...i am really concerned..please let me know..thanks,

I have read on VJ that someone didn't fill up the consulate info and got through alright. Guess they figured that out.

The worst case scenario is to get a RFE asking you to fill up this question, and there is nothing you can do until they send you a RFE letter. So, don't worry too much. :-)

ok, i called USCIS this morning. spoke to two different people. the first one and her supervisor said that they cannot guarantee that if i send in a letter of explanation, that they will be able to match it with my file as they get 30000 pieces of mail everyday. i said, you better put that mail together, thats what i paid the money for. i paid the money for you to take care of me not to throw my mail in the garbage bin. i got furious with the 30,000 pieces of mail response.

i spoke to another lady who agreed with me and said that all the mail that comes in is married to the appropriate file provided i send in a copy of my receipt number.

whom should i listen to? someone?

If it were me I'd send it in. It would make me feel better that I did everything I could to recitfy the situation and avoid an RFE. OF COURSE they have to tell you that there is no guarentee so they cover their asses. But I'd send it in anyway, it'll make you feel better knowing you were active and not passive with this!

I was told that sending in information before it is requested often does result in the paper not getting to the right place. So I'd wait for an RFE because you might not get one at all. And if you do, you can overnight it and it won't hold you up long.

i guess u can send a letter and new 130 (properly filled in) by express mail . so that u have confirmation.always keep copies what sent in ook

b/c by the time they review , u get rfe , u send at that time will consume more time.i think you better send everything now , they wiil attach this to your file ook

i think i made a mistake on question 22 of I-130. the question clearly states, complete this information if your relative is in the united states and will apply for adjustment of status. right below there is a question, if your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at blah blah blah...

basically, i failed to enter anything in there...do you guys think this is going to be an issue...i am really concerned..please let me know..thanks,

cmnb,

You do not need to enter anything for question #22 on I130 as it clearly states....Complete the information if your relative is in the US and will apply for adjustment of status....Your spouse is in India. I entered N/A. So no need to stress....

05/09/08: Sent I-130
