I've noticed that we're all going a little bit insane with the waiting for our I-130 approvals from VSC (fondly known as the Vegas Service Centre). So, I thought I'd give you guys a good link for the next step so that you can be occupied productively while waiting for your turn to hit the jackpot ..... this should keep you busy for 5 minutes instead of going bonkers about where your approval is.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=117

As you will see, there is tons of info on emailing your choice of agent or faxing if you wish.

The forms you'll be dealing with are below .... it's time to become familiar with them and also to prepare any documents you may need

Forms

The impending immigrant will need to look over the following 2 forms:

DS-3032 (choice of agent form)

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/80023.pdf

DS-230 parts 1 and 2

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf

The DS-230 form is a bit of a pain if you've been travelling to the US and back a lot as you'll need to list ALL of your visits etc .... so it's definately prudent to start this ASAP so that you can have it all together and organised.

The USC spouse will be receiving a copy of the Affidavit of Support (AOS), I've added the following links so it's easy for you to send to them incase he/she wants to look over it now and start preparing.

I-864 (AOS)

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864.pdf

or, alternatively the I-864EZ

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864EZ.pdf

Of course, we now have the online payments option which will shave even more time off our wait at NVC.

Medical

Here is the NVC link for finding the doctor in your country who you will be seeing, I suggest you also familiarise yourself with where it will be happening and what you'll be screened for .... and yes you will probably be checked to see if you've had a sex change  .... so don't be surprised if they ask you to remove your underwear.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3739.html

Also, please begin to look at your doctors site and find which innoculations will be required for your medical and start them ASAP as it will probably be cheaper and easier on your arms if you've already had them, instead of turning up to the medical without them.

Interview

And finally your interview, here is the link to find out if there are any specific guidelines for your Embassy/Consulate.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

This is the link for all the required documents to also bring with you on top of your relationship evidence

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3741.html

Photographs

And don't forget ladies and gentlemen, you'll need a few US sized passport photos for this process, if you haven't got them start finding someone in the your country who does them .... these are the guidelines

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3740.html

Goodluck to us all during this VSC game of roulette for our approvals ..... at least this should keep your mind of it all for a while.

This is great Sarah.

Thanks alot

I have also been busy, but more in the line of choosing wallpaper for our hallway, instead of visastuff (not counting the stressing about the address change), LOL

Take care,

Cat

Good Idea, I'll have everything ready thanks!

But what happens after I solve all the worlds mysteries, and Im still not aproved :)

?

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Airticket after interview ?? by the time the beneficiary gets past the interview stage, they'll have such a 'bad taste' in their mouth from the whole USCIS system and may have gone completely insane with all the waiting and invasion into their lives ..... and USCIS wanting the inside leg measurement of their goldfish for the petition .... that they'll probably want to move to England where it's easier and the government gives you housing and money to spend :rofl:

Look on the bright side, seeing how much the gas costs now its great that time machine runs on plutonium!! Save some $$$ :)
