Just an idea, but what if we all have a moratorium on any discussions about illegal immigration? It is a highly divisive issue which never fosters any kind of resolution or resolve other than people here expressing their opinions on the matter over and over again. Last night, my patriotism as an American was put into question once again, only by two people on here who I have known for awhile, like and admire on many accounts. It really has shaken me and I wondered if my opinion is no longer welcome here.

I enjoy the rapport and the heated discussions on many topics here, and I would hope that I have as much validity in stating my opinion here as anyone, as I welcome anyone to disagree by actually arguing on the merits of what I've said rather than dismissing my opinion as coming from someone who dislikes America.

So I propose that we all have a voluntary moratorium on discussing illegal immigration for awhile (say, how about the whole month of October?). That means no posted articles from peejay or WifeOfHunkyJohn. No references in other threads to illegal immigration. How about it?

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Sure.

Of course, you said other threads - which means references to it in this thread are acceptable!

I think your opinion, humor and your experience is always welcome here. You believe in what you believe and speak your mind. Just that some don't agree with you. Some disagree very strongly . Perhaps a good idea but I dont think a moratorium will last though. The best thing may be respectfully is just look the other way.

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .

Exactly, if its bothering you to much, just dont get involved in the immigration discussions.

It's pretty hard to do when in nearly every thread some sort of analogy is drawn to illegal immigration. I think some people are downright obsessed.

Hot kitchens and black kettles come to mind!
