I'm pretty sure my husband won't get the visa in time for our first wedding anniversary. If anyone else has been in this position what did you do to celebrate? I need ideas.

We are celebrating our 'half-anniversary' on December 21 - am wondering what other ppl have done too. Regardless of the visa status at that point - I am planning on being with G in Nepal for our first wedding anniversary - we are going to have a party for the people from his village who couldn't come to our wedding, then we are going to have a party for two in the room where we spent our wedding night... ;)

I guess in 2 weeks we are just going to have a nice long IM/webcam session and dream forward to 6 months in the future... :clock:

I'd send flowers and a whooole lot of them.

Send flowers to a man?

A girl I work with did that and her boyfriend was mad cos he was mortified in fron of his colleagues. I told that story to my fiance and he said that I should never send him flowers. That guys just don't want that sort of thing.

I know, I know, its the thought that counts, but...I'd send something a bit more manly.

There's a lot of stuff that me and my fiance do to stay connected while we are far apart.

Sometimes we watch movies together online - we'll have our webcams open and both start the movie at the same time...we get to talk about the movie over chat and laugh together at the funny parts.

I think you have to download some viewing software to watch (DivX or something) but it's pretty simple. Here's a website where you can watch streaming movies for free (some are bad quality, but some are pretty decent): http://www.watch-movies.net

You could also have a romantic dinner together over webcam. Both cook the same thing, have some wine and some candles, put on the same music and chat over webcam as if you were sitting at the table together.

I know it doesn't replace actually being in eachother's physical presence, but it's better than nothing!

Hope I helped :)
