My parents always said that doing well and living well were the best revenge and it is very true. I would say that if your professors are anything like the ones I've had, they all talk to each other and are prone to give updates when something very good or very bad happens with a student. So I'd thank the professor who helped me and let him or her carry the good news back to the professor who tried to slight you. The update doesn't even have to come form you to trickle down to him or her. :)

Congrats on your internship.

I don't see how letting her know I got the internship is not taking the high road. There's nothing morally compromising about it, and they told the class once to let them know if they got any internships.

She probably won't find out I got the internship unless I tell her, except by chance. I almost never do things like this, and I'm always the person to say "oh forget it, I don't need to hit back" in my life, and this time I want this woman to know I got this internship.

Alex,

In this case, revenge isn't worth the effort.

But if do want her to know (letting her know isn't revenge), you can write her a thank you note thanking her for teaching you and contributing to your development and how thanks to her you are now going to Kalifornia for an internship at xyz.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I agree. She might feel equally miffed if you didn't tell her.

If there was one place I thought I could find wickedness, it was here. Nobody has a good story about getting revenge?

[cracks knuckles...] NOTHING pizzezz an academic more than an appeal/insult to their own ego..... how about a "dear professor Snape: off I go to UofWhichever, to put in place all I've learned here... I appreciate your always unwavering support"; with obvious copy to the Department Head...

LAWL. Maybe I should put it in my evaluation. More like Prof. Trelawny.

HEY. Professor Trelawney has the coolest shawls.... back off. ;)

Me too. I think an e-mail would be ok. I think I'm going to thank them for letting me know about the internship and tell them how excited I am to go.

Slide into class with a glass of champagne in one hand, helium balloons and streamers in the other, wearing a T-shirt with I GOT THE INTERNSHIP on it.

Thats pretty subtle!

:jest:

Congrats on the internship! Seriously though, let your friends know and eventually it will get back to her, and she will hate herself!
