We filed AOS Dec 1 07. Since that time we had bio and she got work permit. Nothing has happened after that. We have not been transferred to Calif. There are no touches online (not unusual to be behind on touches online).

Should I do something? I have read that some people use an info pass session to get the 411. Does anyone suggest this as a course of action?

We're still doing the RFE thing. Our Senator's rep looked into it and left a message a couple of weeks ago saying that they couldn't locate the medical and there was nothing that could be done other than to redo it. We called up the only civil surgeon in this area and even though I doubted it, asked if they take insurance. They do! Even better, they take the insurance we actually have!

We scheduled the appointment and now we're waiting on the paperwork. We only had to pay the copay. I kept thinking there would be some mistake and we'd find that they don't take insurance for the 693. The lady said it would have been $285 instead of $20. That was a huge relief.

Anyway, hopefully we'll have the papers in hand soon. I just wish I'd thought to check into it while waiting for a response from the Senator, we probably would have just done it. Hopefully when we send this in there won't be anymore RFEs.

Congratulations to everyone that has been approved in the last few weeks. I can't wait to be where you are.

Earmuffs, keep holding on. We'll be there soon.

Just starting the journey, haven't yet filed... Until today(2/12/07)!

Helmut & Bee....

I contacted my (and yours, if you live in Torrance) congressperson's office, as we also haven't had a touch since biometrics in January. Their office contacted USCIS and was told that AOS applications are taking between 9 and 12 months.

It seems like the Los Angeles local office, where our cases are probably located, is WAY overloaded.

I've basically decided not to worry about it, and I don't log into VJ ever (well, today was the first time in a very long time) nor do I check status on USCIS. We've got AP and Work permit, so we're just sitting tight.

another touch today but still no updates..

Earmuffs,

At least they are touching your file. Apparently they are afraid to get their fingerprints on our file.

Are you seeing the "touch" on the USCIS website, or are you receiveing the notes via e-mail?

Even though we have had the Bio, the USCIS site still shows their original "file received & pending" notice.

Helmut.

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On June 4, 2008, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location.

Hope this is leading to the end soon!!! :luv:
