I have a question in regards to an affidavit of support. If you signed an affidavit of support so a person could marry and bring his wife to America what would your responsibility be if things didn’t work out in the marriage? Would the person who is a citizen be responsible who marries or would the person who signed the affidavit of support or is it shared?

The spouse is still the primary sponsor...However, I beleive if the spouse is still unable to provide financial support, it then falls to the joint sponsor.
