I highly recommend that we all call and get through to CSC doing the RFE trick like I did yesterday. If we can all confirm that they are sitting on the pallets and all complain, maybe they will hurry up!

I think it depends on how unique your name is, and if several other people have the same name as you, the "name checks" take longer. That's just pure speculation, though. I don't really know anything :unsure:

What was the number she called? I'd like to get this info too but I just dont know who to call! :(

The "RFE trick"... 1-800-375-5283 Then hit 1,2,2,4,2,1 Then enter receipt number, then 1 a couple more times... If you call the USCIS number and answer honestly, you will get a customer service rep with no clue.

Phone trick didn't work today. Seems that after the '4', there is NO '2' choice... you either pick 1 or hangup, or 8 to 'return to the main menu'.

MEA CULPA... I was calling 'after hours'. Seems they only want to work until 6pm... and I would speculate that is Eastern time.

Hi Everyone,

I just called the USCIS and they said that our petition was mailed Dec 12th to the NVC.

So, I called the NVC and YES THEY FINALLY HAVE IT !!!! We received our NVC Case Number and we are now waiting to be shipped to Brazil. The Case worker at the NVC said most likely by the end of the week it may ship

A word of advice, Keep calling the USCIS if the NVC did not receive your petition. I called the USCIS 2 times since the 12th and both times they said didn't ship and today the case worker confirmed it shipped on the 12th..

Good Luck to ALL :dance::dance:

I have a question. When calling NVC, after it asks you to press 5 for an operator it gives the list of options. Does the #1 option (for immigrant visas) also work for non-immigrant visas? Meaning, if I put my receipt number into it, would it tell me if they have a record of it? I'd rather do this than have to listen to a customer rep's little auto-response of "wait a few days" every time I find out they don't have it yet.

When I called I pressed 1 for English, and then 5 to speak to an operator. I didnt go through the options..

After a few minutes of waiting they answered.

When he came on the phone he asked me for my receipt number (WACxxxxxxxxx)

I knew there was good news when he started to ask further questions, something that hasn't happened in the past.

Good Luck !! :thumbs:

Thanks, I'm hoping since yours was mailed on the 12th and mine on the 13th (strange) that they will have mine tomorrow! :whistle:

if not I'm going to be really disappointed :(

When I called tonight I told the man "well, a friend of mine (hehe) got their approval the same day as mine and NVC has received their case already."..all he said was "well, every case is different." :bonk:
