Get a lawer involved when process already strated

Hi VJ!

Does anyone has experiences in getting a lawer involved after filing a I-129F Petition? We have been waiting for so long without approval and now my fiance wants to consult a lawer but im afraid it might slow down things more. What do you guys think about it?

Syl, most lawyers, at least good ones, will give you an initial consultation for free or for a nominal fee. So, you could try it and see if they have any good advice without committing to any contract.

With that said, I really believe at this point your better course of action is to involve Mel's Congressman. He can do that for free and will likely have better results.

Remember if he's tried with one congressman, and they weren't helpful he another congressman and a state senator he can turn to for help. If you go to their websites they have the forms you need to complete in order for them to make an inquiry.

Thank you so much! I told Mel the same thing but he things that a lawer will be better. However i will try to prepare the letters for his congressmen and when he comes on Dec. 07 he will send them off. I am still praying to hear something befor then though.

He just needs to complete a standard form to get congess involved. And congess is way better than a lawyer. For real! Just tell Mel to get online to his congressman's website, download, complete and print the form. Then pop it in the mail. They have liasons whose jobs are to do case investigations and they have better connections to the service centers. Don't wait until Dec 7!!! Tell Mel to get off his duff and tae the 10 minutes it will require to complete this form! Time is a-waisting!! Its so simple even a man can do it!!!!

As already stated, an initial meeting with a lawyer may put your mind at rest, but they can't do anything to speed up the process. They have the same access as we do to USCIS. Your congressman however has liasons who can directly contact the service center and get your case pulled and looked at ASAP. CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN TODAY!

Yes! He can send it from anywhere. It just requires an original signature, so it must be mailed!

With all due respect, Mel & Syl have been extremely patient! They filed in APRIL, responded to an RFE in early Oct and still have no NOA2. I just wanted to make you aware that there's just a bit more to this story!

I agree with that Julezabelle, we really have been patient and i went through the whole thing again to see wheather i can find a reason for a denial but i dont. The only thing that crossed my mind is that Mel has secret clearence (maybe wrong spelling) but he told me that this wont be no reson for a denial so i still hope that we just have a lazy adjudicator.

Make sure she is not from maryland and her name is not karyn duff or poluso thats her new name i think.she was our lawyer and that was awful.but i think if u have visajourney u can do all without a lawyer.its just a rip off
