MY FIANCEE IS COMING HERE SOON AFTER GETTING HER K1 VISA. I WANT TO BUY A ONE WAY TICKET FOR HER TO TRAVEL FROM LAGOS NIGERIA TO CHICAGO IL. IS IT TOO RISKY FOR HER TO COME DOWN THAT WAY? WILL SHE ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS LEAVING LAGOS OR ENTERING CHICAGO. THANKS GUYS. THIS WEB FORUM IS REALLY GREAT! :)

Not a problem at all. In most cases the round trip ticket is cheaper than the one way so people buy the round trip and just don't return.

Just curious. Will her flight be direct from Lagos to Chicago? I just flew to Lagos and back in March. I flew from Louisville, KY to Chicago, then to London Heathrow and then to Lagos . . . and the same in reverse on the way back.

Met online in 04/06.

Officially engaged on 12/12/06.

Flew for first time - heading to Lagos on 03/08/07.

Met in person on 03/09/07.

Married in Lagos, Nigeria on 03/15/07.

I-130 mailed 05/01/07.

I-130 receipt date: 05/03/07.

I-130 NOA1 date 05/25/07.

I-130 NOA2 date 11/15/07 APPROVED!!!!!

I-129F mailed 6/26/07.

I-129F receipt date: 06/28/07.

I-129 NOA1 date 07/03/07.

I-129F transferred from Missouri NBC to CA date: 07/03/07.

I-129F CA received date 07/24/07.

I-129F APPROVED 11/15/07!!!!!

I-129F petition received at NVC and case number generated 12/10/07 (got#on phone)

I-129F petition left NVC for embassy: 12/12/07 per call to NVC!!!

Our Visa was issued in Mexico, however, we were told that we could enter any U.S. POE. Not familiar with other country's requirements for travel though I don't imagine that you would run in to trouble with a one way ticket and K-1 Visa in hand. Perhaps you can make an InfoPass Appointment to be sure.

4/20/06: NOA Receipt

6/23/06: Req for Evidence

8/31/06: NOA

9/28/06: NOA- NVC rcvd I-129

10/12 & 11/9: Rcvd CDJ Ltr- processing Visa

12/6/06: CDJ Interview - Denied - I-601 Waiver Required

12/18/06: I-601 filed

8/6/07: Waiver Approval

8/22/07: Waiver Approval letter received

9/4/07: Open Appointment Letter Rcvd (postmarked 8/31/07 from Texas)

9/9/07: Arrive in CDJ for Open Appt

9/10/07: Open Appointment

9/12/07: RECEIVED K-1 VISA!

AOS - 10/8/07 to 11/21/07

9/14/07: Entered the United States

9/21/07: Happliy Married!

10/6/07: AOS Packet Mailed to Chicago Lockbox!

10/19/07: NOA Receipt for AOS & EAD received
