something to think about ... my wife rented (we were married in Brazil)

her gown was custom fit ... was new (never used before) ... and was new fashion.

Same as my tux and/or suit ... what groom wants to look like a pauper next to his bride

I don't think there's anything wrong with renting a dress (or a tux). I just don't think I would. There's a fabulous place here that rents dresses and formal wear for children to adults for something like $25 for three weeks for kids to $25 for one week for adults.

Naw, just really cool and incredibly inexpensive. Probably less than 100 Euros. I did fancy and expensive last time and well, clearly that didn't work out so well

My fiancée agrees with me. Not all women see the need to waste money for something worn once. What's important is the woman not the dress.

I think wedding dresses are a total and complete waste of money.

The fact that a lot of couples would like to celebrate their wedding day doing something nice for themselves, family and friends, and wear something extra nice and special, even when it means spending a few bucks, does not mean they care more about the dress than the person. Why do you mix both things?

Good thing your fiancee agrees with you though...you don't want any sour memories on what will be one of the most important days of you life together.

i always wanted my mom to make my dress and she did... the dress was very special to me and it only cost me about 100 bucks for material... actually that included the material for the flower's girl dress too....
