Our case was at NVC in May and I could NEVER get info on the automated system. I always had to talk to a person. Once my case was there and it had a new NVC case number, it was still useless on the automated system.

The automated system at NVC are not accurate. Although NVC have sent out our NOA2 to the consulate, their automated system still says that there's no record of our case ever received. It's best to talk to a Live Operator to ensure a more accurate response. Good luck!

I AM SO SHOCKED RIGHT NOW. THE REASON WHY I AM SO CONCERNED IS THAT I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT MY FIANCE IS PREPARED FOR THE INTERVIEW. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT PUSHING THE DATE BACK OR NOT BEING PREPARED WITH THE MEDICAL AND THE PAPER WORK. OKAY....JUST MEANS THAT I NEED TO CALL EVERY SINGLE DAY UNTIL I HEAR THAT THEY HAVE SENT IT TO THE CONSULATE.

THANKS MR2NICE!

Missy1, NVC is crazy. Speaking of wasted time. It is best to call first thing in the morning, right when they open or the last 10-15 minutes they are open. Otherwise you will wait a long time to talk to someone. PLUS...if you're on hold "too long" the system will tell you to call back later and hang up on you. I was so ticked off the first time it happened to me. lol.

Also when you call you will provide them with your USCIS case number, be sure to ask for your new NVC number. This is the number the consulate in Nigeria will use. You will need it if you call the embassy.

I see that you filed at Vermont Service Center, which means that they will send out your NOA2 to NVC a lot quicker than CSC. From what I've seen, it takes about a week to forward the case to NVC. For CSC, it takes about 3-5 weeks.

THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM WILL NOT FOR A K-1 OR K-3 EVER TELL YOU THE STATUS, YOU must call and use the live operator

function. Our Interview is 12/04/07 and still is not in the NVC system and never will. they dont input those visas on the automated system and took me 3 weeks to find that out from a friend who works for immigrations.

Hope that helps answer your question.....

Good luck in the Journey !!!!

We never had to call NVC as they are pretty organized as opposed to VSC. You have just received your NOA2 so you are still in a good time frame for NVC. NVC will send you a letter as soon as they have finished with your name checks telling you (if all is well) that your case will be forwared to the appropriate Embassy within 7 days. Once it gets to the Embassy you can call the "hotline" as I referr to it for an update or if you have any questions.

However if you really feel the need to contact NVC you can try by this email:

NVCINQUIRY@state.gov.

Keep in mind as with the Service Centers i.e., VSC, if they are still within their time frames the information that they give you if at all is going to be the same relative to being in their time frames.

If you are making an inquiry to check that all required paperwork is received I would imagine they would be able to help you.

Yup, it's rediculous to wait that long to just forward the case to NVC. Ours took exactly 5 weeks. Because of that delay, my hope for getting the interview before Christmas won't be happening.

The automated system and the live operators are pretty much in the same boat. They are not helpful at all.The automated system will tell you that your case has been received and that the I-797 will tell you how they will handle your case. The customer service representatives have limited information.I have been told "I don't know." by them probably a thousand times.

Hi,

Actually, they are moving like turtles.I know this from experience.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!
December 23,2010-Work authorization received.
January 12,2011-RFE
