Hi To all

I just sent my AOS packet last week, am waiting for my NOA.

I have read in DMV that one of the requirement to obtain a drivers license is to have SSN. I already got my SSN last month.Am I already eligible in obtaining drivers license while waiting for AOS aproval?

Any of you here in VJ have the same case of mine.

Most states require SSN as well as something showing residential status like Green-Card, EAD-Card, or Approval letter for Green-Card or EAD card.

Since your profile and timeline lack data like US City, I cannot point you to your state DMV site and tell you exactly what is needed to apply.

In my state of NY my wife had to wait until having a green-card or EAD card to be able to apply for a license.

In Florida my husband was able to get a DL that is valid for a year by presenting his NOA from the AOS. Otherwise, his DL would have only been valid as long as the I-41 is (90 days).

Now he's still waiting for his GC, but he can drive as long as he has his EAD (which he does).

I just passed my drivers test a few days ago. I used my EAD and SSN to get my DL. It is also valid for 5 years (until my DOB) even though i don't have my Greencard yet

Heres a heads up to anyone in OK thats renewing an expired licence. Read this article. Thank god I got mine done last year and hubby got his done in Apr.
