check cashed 1 week after

Hi all,

This is my first post but I feel I've been around for a long time now. I hadn't had the necessity to open a post since EVERYTHING is well explained in various topics started by others user. First of all, let me thank the person who created this forum because as I've seen he/she/they have helped out the lives of so many people, I salute you.

Now, my question, we sent to Chicago's lockbox our AOS and EAD on Oct 26th and was received on Oct 28th 2007, we checked last friday and the checks have been already cashed! what does that mean?? they have approved it? they, at least, did not find any issue and are processing it?

It took several weeks after our checks were cased to hear something. Claudeth then received her biometrics letter for her EAD. The overall process took us five months. You might look at the Immigration Timelines at the top of the page, they may help give you an idea of what to expect.

You'd get better and appropriate help by posting in the AOS forum.

But, anyway, it just means they have received the application, so now you wait for your biometrics letter. For more info, please read the guides on AOS and the AOS forum.

You are lucky things are going fast so far! Yes, it means there are no issues with the case right now, and they are processing it. Most likely, it is in a pile waiting for an employee to look over it. At that point, if they find anything lacking, they will send an RFE. Otherwise, it will move right along either to a local office for interview, or be transferred to a Service Center. Best wishes for a continuing fast process!

Thanks! Yup they are going pretty fast, hopefully that employee will look it over very soon hahaha. How long does it take to receive the EAD, the thing is the following, since I'm or actually WAS on F-1 Status doing my OPT, I already have an EAD that will last 1 year up until June 2008 and well my SSN since I started college back in 2000, do you think it will be faster since I already have a SSN?

Thanks for your replies!! u r VERY helpful, even better than a lawyer, one of my friends paid a lawyer and they ended up returning all her paperwork, besides charging him the difference between the new and old fee. Ours, already being processed w/o paying any lawyer

We just received today Nov 5th, the NOA for the EAD, I-130 and I-485 WOHOO! I hope everything goes as smoothly as it has been going so far!

Wow, that was really fast for you... Some of us who filed in the midst of hustling and bustling trying to beat the fee hikes took more than a month or so for our checks to be cashed and waited longer for the NOA...

Don't worry, cannot explain why they processed mine first but it will be just 2 weeks since you sent yours, patience my friend good luck on your process!!
