a couple of older girls came to our door dressed as hookers (maybe like paris hilton??)..i slipped them a $20..old habits are hard to break

My 43 year old aunt called me up yesterday, asked if we (I'm 31) could put on the pirate costumes from my wedding and go trick or treating tonight

I would have gone too if my grandmother (who I am a full time caretaker of) weren't so sick right now.

Ok, so last night before a certain event.. I read this and thought #######?

UNTIL......

I spoke to my husband to be... He called me a little later than he normally would. I answered the phone to him sounding rather pleased with himself...

I asked him what? What are you giggling for? He announced that himself and his next door neighbour had just been trick or treating.... He rustled the huge bag of candy down the phone to prove it.

My husband to be is 40 and the next door neighbour is about 35. They threw on scary looking masks and off they went, didn't think it was odd in the slightest

Oh god. What am I letting myself in for? :lol:

we didn't have a single trick or treater last night. we live on a pretty busy road though so we usually only get 5 or 6. NOT ONE! also, we went to a wedding reception last night that we thoughtwas going to be cool like a halloween party. we thought they got married at the court house and then were just having this costume party as their reception. we were sooooo wrong...I'm not bashing anyone who is wiccan so please don't think I am but it was a wiccan wedding and it was just too weird for us. they held daggers to their hearts when they were saying their vows. I think I will google it just to find out more about it. after all the "crazy" stuff we had a great time though.

we had about 7 kids come by... we live on a street full of apartment buildings and ours is the only one where each apartment as our own outside entrance...

one teenager came by dressed up like the scary guy from scream... he scared me a little

i was out trick or treating with the kids so no one came to my house, thanfully LOL they did go to my dads until 11pm even tho the lights were out

we went to this one house, the porch light was on, and the lady opened the door, looked at us and we "we wont do halloween we have a sick kid" and slammed the door in my kids faces. i was pissed. not only did she slam the door but she yelled it at us. i knocked nicely and when she opened again, i sd to her "instead of being a b**ch to the kids, turn off your porch light so no other kids are hurt by your rudeness" she snarled, slammed the door again and turned off her porch light. PPL know on halloween that if the lights are on, the kids will come, if you dont want them to, turn off the porch light. duh

I'd cut the lady a little slack on that one. True, she could have just not answered the door, but it's impossible to know what's going on in her home, especially if her kid is very ill and Halloween just reminds her that her kid can't enjoy the fun. It's hard to judge someone if they say they have a sick child. They may be out of their mind with worry.

I agree, but its also not hard to turn off your porch light so no one comes to your door. thats not hard.

its easier than yelling at every kid that knocks

I've been known to wrap rocks and charcoal in colorful paper and put it in the bag of those I deemed "too old" for this event.
