Hi,

I am just so close to sending in my K1 peitition. I know it is important to have 2 copies of each document you send in, yet I do not want to spend hundreds of dallors making color copies. Is it okay if I make black and white copies of each paper?

Thanks

Black and white is fine. The only reason why you'd need 2 copies of the entire packet is so that you and your fiance can each have a copy in case of an RFE (and peace of mind!). Most often than not USCIS won't be seeing the other copies.

Yes,

But I need to know if it is okay to make just black and white copies. For example some of the proof is in color and the signatures are blue. Does that matter then if they are black and white?

I actually scanned everything in color and printed it on my color printer to keep for my own records (and for the eventual interview).

Having the entire copy in black and white is fine. If you have the time, scanning it can come in handy down the line. Whether or not you'll need to produce a copy of the entire petition down the line is usually dependent on what your consulate is demanding, as each one is different. I scanned all our stuff and it was immensely helpful down the line when referencing particular pieces and when filing for AOS. But scanning is not required, just helpful at time IMO.

I had copies of the forms and extra sheets in black and white, but photos I had scanned and color printed so I had those saved in a folder in my computer.
