What is the best to do when waiting to make time go faster?

I filed in August for the K-1 Visa and received my NOA1 a little more than three weeks ago. So now its just more waiting until the NOA2.

I try not to look at the Forums on these pages because I get so anxious about waiting. At this time I know its mostly the May/June Filers who are receiving word on their petitions.

I also try to avoid logging into the USCIS website to check my status, because my case hasnt been touched.

I filed right after the fees for petition increased so I doubt that my fiance will receive the K-1 in 6-8 months.

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole process takes close to a year or even longer.

So the question is "what do you guys all do while you wait?"

I'm not to hear anything from USCIS until the end of January 2008 for the NOA2 if there are no RFE's.

i would say keep your communication up. you two are each others biggest support. you can use the time to research the process, research the hotels in manila near the embassy. decide if you will be there with her or not. learn the costs and where the CFO is and the medical. talk and plan your usa wedding, as in small church , civil with judge etc. Will you wear tux, or traditional filipino shirt, etc. talk about your plans for the future. tell yoru fiancee all about your place and town and the places you will take her. i search the net for pictures of my town and give a slideshow with commentary on the different things etc.

there is alot you can do to take your mind off the waiting. i still read the forums and i also check the cris website. you can also go to www.theworldoffilipinas.com and talk with alot who are in the process same as you etc. you can prepare your house for your fiancee. i did alot of spring cleaning to make room in closets and dressers etc.

your process will probably only take 10 months same as us now who filed just before the increase. you will get thru the wait just fine and it will be worth it once your fiancee is re-united with you again.

I visited her 2 times. I tried to carry on life as normally as possible. Wrote letters twice a month. I looked at our case status every day. I was on VJ everyday. When not in Brazil with her, we talked everyday. Hey, it aint easy. But you will survive!

Enjoy your time with your family and enjoy your country as much as you can, if you are the foreign fiance/e, 'cus you'll TRULLY miss it once you are here.

If you are the USC, still, enjoy your individuality as you'll soon be sharing every aspect of your life, and it's wonderful, trully, but making the most of the time you have as you are now is good as well, try getting focused on things that have nothing to do with immigration.

I know the feeling! Especially in the fact that this is my SECOND time through this process. We had to withdrawal our first petition due to a personal situation and everything at that time (2005) moved along so nicely. Now we sit again and this time is FAR longer all due to the bandwagon of petitions beating the fee increase. I have tried everything, time still creeps. Working overtime, "work, work, work" as another poster suggested, only makes time go even more slowly for me. Only gives me another thing in my life to wait to end each day.

To be honest, and this sounds horrible, we try to keep our minds off the situation as much as possible. We call each other only on weekends. Everyday is just a reminder we aren't together. It helps a little.

Overall, you just have to very patient and know that your day will come.
