huh ?!?

They WORKED ILLEGALLY ... they are required to pay taxes on this money ... just like YOU DO when you work in the US

Failure to pay taxes on income ... well you know the expression ... "We're from the IRS ... and we’re here to help you"

I suggest YOU and your SO not pay taxes ... please report the results of this experiment.

LEGAL... wait

LEGAL

not..

ILLEGAL

LEGAL IMMIGRANTS didn't work illegaly..

Are you finished screaming ... check the PB before the big one happens ... please

Legal people ... no problem

Illegal people ... not paying taxes .. BIG problem.

Do you have a problem with illegals paying income tax on the money they earn (work for) while being illegal in the USA?

Got a problem with that ... then be one of them ... don't pay taxes. It's simple ... yes ?

no i don't have a problem with taxation of illegals.. I wasn't talking bout them to start with..

but I agree with vjtroll.. prices are gonna go crazy without that 'necessary evil'..

oh.. they gotta lot of business.. don't worry bout them lol.. best example.. had to fix the water pump for my stupid van.. all americans charged 600+ bucks... and had to make an appt and blablabla.. went with this amigo who is a mechanic/preacher.. 280 bucks, in a weekend.. best job evarr.. when i moved here to kannapolis, i went to locate the amigos businesses.. don't wanna get ripped by americans

So you are part of the problem ... supporting illegals ?

The 'necessary evil' ... dude .. you gotta get out more. There are lots of shops thats don't exploit illegals and perform this type of work too.

Or .. Oh God ...heaven forbid ... you learn to do it yourself and save even more money.

what a racist statement. White people ZOMG!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Hey - there are plenty of US Citizens that don't pay taxes. About HALF actually. Most illegal aliens would probably have zero liability if they did file.

I needed a job done at home, didn't have the time to do it myself - got a quote from a few Americans and then from an illegal. The illegal came in at 1/3rd the cost of the cheapest American.

No brainer. Mass deportations will drive up costs and induce inflationary pressures. A very bad idea, IOW.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that The MAerican tax Payers are already paying for the Illegals, What you save in labor on the front end you are paying elsewhere such as higher Health Insurance costs, Hiring taxes to pay for social services that these illegals Take adavnatge of, Higher Auot insurance ( Unisured driver coverage) Higher rent in areas where illegals occupy 30 to a home, Property values decrease due to the ####### that starts filling the neighborhoods.

You are paying more for illegals than if you went & Hired an american for a little extar $ you get insurance of the investment, the job is done in majority of cases by a SKILLED individual with insuarnce who is bonded, You are helping the economy instead of paying some illegal leech whop will only send that money Back over the border. So if you think you are saving money by hiring an illegal you are the brainless one.

what about the legal immigrants that send money back to the border? even they are cheaper than the americans.. I don't go to a car shop where they speak english.. only spanish!!

They are criminals too if they dont pay taxes of course once their illegal custonmer base is dried out they will have no business. They aren't the problem, the problem is the disease of illegals

Do things right or do the right things. Get rid of as many illegals as humanly possible, protect the borders, and force those who enter this country to do it legally or not at all. There is always a price to pay no matter which road is chosen, but the cost of doing nothing will be far worse in the long run.

Exactly, what these ninnys who spew about "How if we enforce Immigration and deport illegals we will experince inflation & higher costs" What they fail to realsie through their own ignorance is that THEY ARE ALREADY PAYING HIGHER PRICES BECAUSE OF ILLEGALS.

Like a cancer if it goes untreated it only continues to detroy what it encounters.

Cut off the support and the strays are forced to go home.

There's simply no proof that that would happen. It stands to reason that the American taxpayer will save the 10 billion or so per annum that we currently put up to pay for some profiteers that exploit illegal labor. Sorry, ElPresidente, but that dog don't hunt.

This is a few years out of date (based on 1999 numbers). The Bush tax cuts have reduced the tax burden for the lower half of workers in the US by decreasing the marginal rate to 10%, and increasing the standard deductions. But yes, it is true, the bottom 50% of taxpayers collect more from the government than they pay in. So be poor - you don't have to pay taxes. Or, move to Guam or Puerto Rico. The IRS doesn't collect income tax from US Citizens earning money and residing there.

You can also derive most of your income from municipal bonds - interest from these is generally tax exempt, though at some point you will probably end up paying AMT on some of them.

401ks are okay, since they let you reinvest your gains tax free. The problem I see is that you don't know what the taxes will be in the future when you take money out. I have a sneaky suspision that by the time baby boomers are sucking money out of these in enough volume, Uncle Sam will be taxing it more heavily than is the case now. Unfunded entitlements liabilities are just too big to avoid this, without letting in 30-50 million working age immigrants.

In my perfect tax system, the IRS would simply divide the budget every year by the number of people in the US, and send everyone a bill. Property taxes, motor vehicle taxes, etc don't take into account one's ability to pay - why should federal income tax be any different?

Who would really chose to be poor just so they didn't have to pay taxes? This 'oh, the poor are so lucky because...' is such a ridiculous argument.

I don't envy poor people, nor do I begrudge paying my taxes. Then again, I like being part of a society that tries to help those who are not as fortunate as myself.

This is a bit OT though.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Income tax shouldn't take the ability (or willingness) to pay into consideration either. I agree. Should be a flat rate on every dollar earned in the US - regardless where one resides - over the existential minimum (it would simply be silly to levy taxes on the existential minimum as the taxpayer would then, because he has to pay taxes, fall below the existential minimum and require assistance in the very amount of taxes he just paid). Then, a Warren Buffet might actually have a higher effective tax rate than his secretary. Currently, that, according to him, isn't the case. ;)

oh.. they gotta lot of business.. don't worry bout them lol.. best example.. had to fix the water pump for my stupid van.. all americans charged 600+ bucks... and had to make an appt and blablabla.. went with this amigo who is a mechanic/preacher.. 280 bucks, in a weekend.. best job evarr.. when i moved here to kannapolis, i went to locate the amigos businesses.. don't wanna get ripped by americans

Same here, I've just started discovering the amigo network. Met a Colombian guy who does stuff cheap, real cheap, and when he doesn't have time, he sends a friend (all amigos). Prices are incredible, quality is just fine. Why hire American as long as these guys are already here and I'm already bearing their tax burden?

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
