Whew, almost done with everything that needs to be sent out with the initial package, though don't let that get you guys thinking I won't still have more last minute questions in the next few days  Thank you to everyone so much, I know we've only been here a very short time, but it's so nice to know there is a place to go for sound advice and that others are going through this same process.

So this concerns the question about how we met and everything. While I do think what I typed is quite superfluous, I wanted some opinions on if it's too much, or if in trying to get everything in there, I might have left out something incredibly important. Also any proofreading or suggested editing is appreciated, I did go to college, but majored in sociology and philosophy so my grammar and structure may be less than perfect. It's 12 pt. font, not double spaced (would be over a page if I did), and four short paragraphs. The header contains my full name, birth date, and SS#. Here are the contents of the letter:

I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18

We first met over two years ago through a friend of Prapussorn’s named Mooyoung who I knew from an online networking (non-dating) website called MySpace (URL: www.myspace.com). The first documented contact I have from her on this website is dated August 17th, 2005 10:32 PM and simply states “What’s up??” I do believe we may have had interactions before this time on an online instant messaging program then known as MSN Messenger (now called Windows Live Messenger), but we have known each other since at least around this date and became good online friends, corresponding and talking about our daily lives and opinions often since then.

This year (2007) I happened to have two weeks of vacation for the second half of August and I wanted to travel somewhere outside of the country since I hadn’t done so in quite some time. I asked Prapussorn if it would be OK if I came to Thailand to visit her. We did feel an attraction to each other and the possibility of marriage was on our minds, but we didn’t want to make any definite decisions until after we met face to face. She said OK and I booked a round-trip ticket to Bangkok. This planning took place around early July, 2007.

I arrived in Bangkok on August 17th, 2007 and Prapussorn met me at the airport, along with Mooyoung and another friend who had a car. Within the first day of being with each other we fell in love and knew we would be together for the rest of our lives. She said she would marry me and I promised I would make it happen no matter what sacrifices we had to make. We spent everyday together for the time I was there and we were both sad when I had to return to America, but happy to know that we were both completely committed to the relationship and doing what it took to get married and have her come live with me in New York.

Since I’ve come back to New York we have talked online and/or on the phone almost every single day. We have both been researching this entire process and have been working together to complete all of the necessary paperwork and documentation for this part of the procedure. We are very serious about getting married, starting a family and spending the rest of our lives together. Thank you for considering our application.

Should I:

1. Mention that I've met her family

2. Mention that she is usually called Tik among friends, not Prapussorn

Also, if I can ask another question without flooding the board with topics selfishly, what do we do about those little + signs on the PDFs that may cover important things such as, say, the end of her first name or the dates of employment history on the G-325A? Should I write the information over this in pen or just leave it how it is? Thanks!

I fail to see how to edit my post, though I've done it (on this board) in the past. So here's the updated version, I added some stuff about meeting her family, buying an engagement ring, and planning a return trip in a few months. I know it's probably more than needed, but still takes up barely over half a page and I figure it can't hurt (maybe?).

I just finished my question 18 supplement after reading that topic..I was curious also about what I should put down. I did it in MS Word. I will post it here.

I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18, explanation of meeting in person

To whom it may concern,

I met my fiancée Kira Khomich on myspace.com on December 2, 2006 through a mutual friend of ours on that site. We sent a few emails back and forth to each other, and then we started using MSN Messenger and Google Talk (voice chat program). We communicated through emails and voice chat (Google Talk), until I flew from Anchorage, AK in the month of May, 2007 to Minsk, Belarus for a month to meet with her. I rented an apartment in Minsk after obtaining a “Personal Invitation Visa” from Kira/Ms. Khomich. We proceeded to live together as a couple and had an intimate relationship for the entire month I was in Minsk. I met Kira’s family and friends while there in Minsk, and also at our formal engagement dinner in Minsk where I asked for her hand in marriage. We are both very much romantically committed to each other and we intend to spend the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.

We communicate with each other on an almost a daily basis using Google Talk voice chat program (headphones/PC/internet). We have also spoken with each other several times over the telephone. We have also used chat/webcam programs such as Skype, Yahoo and MSN Messenger. Ms. Khomich and I both have PC/laptops, headsets with microphone, webcams and internet at our respective residences.

I have included my passport along with date stamped photos of us together in Minsk, copies of our chats and emails (Print Screen), e-ticket, boarding passes, Personal Invitation Visa, and my passport with stamps in my K-1 Visa Package showing the dates of my stay with my fiancée Kira/Ms. Khomich in Minsk, Belarus.

Sincerely,

Date:

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18

We met online date through a friend of Prapussorn’s and soon began courting online. On date, I traveled to City to spend X time with her. We became engaged on date.

Above in bold is how I would edit your answer to Part B, Question 18. It will fit on the form directly. I would save your evolution of relationship letter for her to take to the interview, if needed. The part covering your relationship to date could be as short as a paragraph or two and then add more as needed to cover the relationship's evolution from now until near the interview.

Make sure you provide primary evidence of meeting, like copies of passport stamps and boarding passes. Add a few pictures together if you want.

Hi:

the space provided on the form is not a lot, so if you want to say more, you could say "please see attached" (like my then-fiance did).

what we said as an answer for this question #18 basically covered these important topics (in a narrative manner on a separate sheet):

- how we met and when (online in 2001 while i was in the US).

- when we started dating (since our first meeting)

- when we became exclusive (since our first meeting)

- when we got engaged (August 2005)

- when he came to thailand to see me (2006 and 2007) and whom he met (my dad and grandmother)

i don't think you need to elaborate much to prevent confusion and more questions. save the details for your fiancee to tell on her interview.

Good luck. (F)(F)

I wrote "See attachment" and wrote about a page for question 18. I think it helped establish the rest of the proof I sent with my package, like the photos. I would definitely mention meeting the parents, as USCIS and the consulate take that in high consideration of a bonafide relationship.

USCIS doesn't care one bit about whether you met your fiance(e)'s parents or the evolution of your relationship. They want evidence you saw each other in person within the past two years. Bona fides are the purvue of the Consulate. If you want to include an evolution of your relationship letter, go for it but it has nothing to do with the answer to question 18.

Yes, but by doing so in my I-129F package it saved me time questions in the interview. The lady there had notes on those facts and only asked me 3 simple questions and just chatted about what she had read. Made things a lot easier for me and I guess helped me sail through my process.

Besides, I cross referenced all my evidence with the story I had, which made my proof more clear and helped prove the 2 year meeting requirement.

Thanks for all of the advice, I'm not sending the package until her signed documents arrive in the mail later this week at the earliest so I will try to consider all of it before then. Appreciate it.

My advice is to not put anything there that you cannot prove with documentation (I spent 3+ weeks sending documentation to the BKK embassy after the interview!!!). Any trips should have passport stamps/ticket stubs/etc. Emails and chats should have email address information and copies of sessions. You really should only to stick to the facts, you just need to describe when/where you met and that you have personally seen each other within the last two years.

It is a very nice story!! Good Luck!!!!

Thanks a lot, I already sent the package now :) I can verify all of the facts with documentation, I sent copies of my passport stamps and 24 photos for the trip, some of them have Mooyoung and some have her family in them, but all 24 have me and her. As far as the initial meeting we can prove that at the interview too since our first correspondences are still posted on that website so I will keep what you said in mind and make a copy of that page. I'll also get a receipt for the engagement ring. Thanks though, hope they don't tie us up sending them stuff for three weeks, but if they do that's a lot better than waiting months and months to hear from them :)
