I was just wondering if others had any experience in this area. My wife came over here first and received her two year Green Card, after we did everything that we read in this forum :). After her Biometrics appointment, her case was transferred to the service center in Califoernia and she was sent her Green Card shortly thereafter, with no AOS interview.

She went back to Russia to get her daughter, and we applied for her AOS and Advanced Parole. We received word that her daughter's Biometrics appointment has been scheduled shortly.

I was mildly surprised, as she is only 6 years old and we did not pay any Biometrics fee in our application. Is it normal for such a young child to have this Biometrics appointment? Also, is it typical for such a young K2 visa holder to undergo an AOS interview?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

My wife's daughter is a 9 year-old and she too had to have the biometrics done even though it says on the form that only those over 14 year-old have to do it. She also must attend the AOS interview that we have scheduled in May so no, I don't believe your case is unusual. My wife's daughter also had to attend the K-1 Visa interview.

She doesn't have to do the full 10 finger fingerprinting for the background check .. but she does need to have her picture taken and her index fingerprint taken for the GC.

Hi

We have just experienced biometrics and my son is only 10 he just had to have his photo taken and thumb prints (thats it) on the day. We didnt have to pay for biometrics for him. But for my daughter is 18 we had to pay for her.

Make sure she goes as it says on the bottom of the form if they do not attend the appointment thier cases are considered abandoned and the immigration proccess will have to be restarted for them.

You only pay the biometrics fee if the child is 14 years old and older. This is because the child of this age (and older) has the fingerprinting for all 10 fingers which is then sent to FBI for FP check.

My son was 13 when we applied and we didn't have to pay biometrics fee for him. He only had the digital photo, digital signature and forefinger + thumb print. We were worried he'd turn 14 before we got approval because then he'd have to go have the full fingerprinting done and an FP check might delay his process. Luckily our approvals came a couple of months before he turned 14.

As to the interview, not sure if they will still want to talk to a 6 year old child considering the mother was already granted a green card.
