My husband was working as a fashion designer. working 12 hours a day 6 days a week. And working for next to nothing in Egypt. I made him quit his job and go spend the time left with his family till he gets his visa. So when he gets here Im sure he will love working just 40 hours a week. Also he will be trained to be a tattoo artist, And who wouldn't want our job. Sit and listen to music and tattoo art on skin

Can't really comment on what I'll be doing in the US as I'm not there yet :( But I DO know my holidays will be "going out the window" no matter what job I end up with.

I am currently an office administrator and I'm lucky enough to get 30 days holiday a year (30 for being at my current employer for over 5 years - 25 days is the starting holiday allowance). As far as my salary is concerned, I work a "standard" 39 hours a week but in reality, I do about 45 and don't get paid the overtime.

It's about the same for me.

I made a little more in Germany and had a little longer hours. I'm in a more responsible position here since I'm running my own "department", and I really like that.

The only big difference is the paid vacation time (Germany: 30 days, US: 15 days :crying: )
