***UPDATE***

I went to the Consulate today to pick up my appointment letter! And finally got the right information :) I had to be at 9:30 and get a number. I was there at 9:00 and waited until 10:30 :( but I'm just happy I got the accurate information now in my hand.

Things are handled quite differently in the US Consulate here, there's no Package 3, only Package 4 I have to bring all the forms on Package 4 completed for the interview.

This is the list, in case some of you want to have an idea of which documents you need to prepare:

- Passport (it has to be good for more than 6 months)

- Police Records

- Criminal Records

- DS-156 Form (2 forms that need to be filled out online)

- DS-157 Form (2 forms that need to be filled out online) FOR MEN ONLY

- Birth Certificate (Original)

- Certificate of the Divorce Decree or Death Decree (in our case this does not apply)

- Medical Exam report (Cost: $100 they gave me a list of Doctors)

- Evidence of financial support:

a. I-134 Form signed by USC Fiance and notarized.

b. 1040 y W-2 Forms (Copies of taxes paid by USCIS for the last 2 years)

* Minimum income: $17,113 yearly and if he/she has dependants he/she needs $4,350 for each.

- 2 recent passport photographs must be glued to DS-156 form (I'm not sure how this works because supousedly

DS-156 is an online form)

- FEE: $100 (needs to be paid in advanced at the Bank)

It didn't say anything about providing evidence of ongoing relationship nor pictures, BUT I'm gonna bring them anyway.

So I have 1.5 months to start gathering all our documents and to have my medical exam, and NOVEMBER 19 will be 'the day' ;)

Good luck to all of you guys I hope all may filers get their interviews scheduled pretty soon!

Hey everyone!

Just sharing more good news this morning! I sent an email to the Guatemalan Consulate yesterday asking if our case was already here and I got an email in response saying our interiew is scheduled for NOVEMBER 19, 2007 at 8.30 a.m.. :) YAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

They also sent me a link for the requirements and forms I need to have completed for the interview! I never got Package No. 3, I'm guessing the Guatemalan consulate does not send a Package 3 and I just need to bring all the documents for the interview.. that's kinda different for what I've read around here... my fiance says that it probably works different here. I'm going to call them this morning again just make sure.

The e-mail says I need to go to the Consulate to pick up my appointment letter... that is totally different don't you think? I hate it that there aren't any other couples in my consulate in VJ :(

I'll just call them to be 100% sure because this is all so new to me.

Anyway, I'm super excited!!!!

WOW! I am so EXCITED for you!:dance: Congratulations you're almost there!

You need to fill out the form online, follow the instructions to continue, and then print the form. Then you can glue the photos on the printed forms. The instructions on the website also states that you should not fold the form...

Good luck on your interview...

So I just print out 2 copies of the same form?I also remember reading on the package instructions that I should not fold them because of the bar code.

Thanks for your help :)
