I sent in the I-129 with supporting paperwork to the Nebraska office a month and a half ago and still have not received any NOA1 and my check has still not been cashed. I called the representative for the immigration hotline and they told me to wait three months before they would do anything to help find out more about my petition.

Could anyone tell me what might be going on? I can't seem to see anyone else who had to wait quite so long and I'm concerned.

Thanks,

Adam and Sachiko

They are backlogged (from all I've read lately) so I would probably do as the USCIS rep suggested and try to tough it out. If you keep checking for your cancelled check, the USCIS prints the case number on the back of it. IF you can get this number off your cancelled check (once it's cashed) then the NOA1 isn't really needed. The case number is all that matters...once you have that you can log onto the USCIS website and register for email notification. The NOA2 is the important document that you definitely want (and need) the hardcopy. :)

you need some patience.things may take some time. my fiancé filed the I129f on may 6, 2007 to the texas center and we never got an NO1. i undesratnd the frustation you have for th moment.we too were freakig out some time as we didn't know the situation of our case like you do .but we recently got the approval letter from the california service center on september 18. .so there are some people who never get their NOA1 until they get the approval.i read about other cases on this site who never goet their NOA1 but everything goes well at the end. What is important is the NOA2.as for the check my fiancé found out it was cashed a few months ago but i don't remember when exactly. in my opinion , things take sometime.you don't have to freak out and take it easy and you can follow what you were told by the call operator and everyhting will be allright .

my husband sent in the I-130 to NVC, and it is already a month , we have not got the NOA1 and the check has not catshed yet, I undertsand how you feel, but i read some posts here that people wait about 50 days getting their NOA1, so i think maybe your check will be cashed and get the NOA1 in a few days. :)

there's a thread here where some people have been discussing exactly that situation... you're not alone :)

and there's a link here to the official USCIS Q&A on the subject, discussing the backlog and how it's causing significant delays in sending out even NOA1s, let alone NOA2s

people from the first thread are just - ie in the last couple of days - starting to report cashed cheques and news on their NOA1s, so with a bit of luck, the same should happen for you very soon :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.
