Jan 4, 2005 Sent to Juarez from NVC

Jan 31, 2005 Lawyer received packet 3

Feb 22, 2005 Medical Exam

Feb 23, 2005 Consulate Interview & finger prints

Feb 24, 2005 VISA ISSUED

March 19, 2005 MARRIED (por fin)

March 19, 2005 Fired attorney!

AOS Timeline

April 8, 2005 Applied for SSN

April 15, 2005 Filed for AOS, EAD, AP

April 20, 2005 Received SSN

April 25, 2005 1st NOAs received for AOS, EAD, AP

April 26 thru 29 Tried to make biometrics and fingerprinting appointment to no avail.

April 29, 2005 Just walked in and had them done.

May 18, 2005 Received RFE for Supplemental Form to I-693 dated May 13.

May 31, 2005 Sent in Supplemental Form to I-693 as requested.

June 7, 2005 Received e-mail notice stating Supplemental Form to I-693 had been received.

June 16, 2005 AP & EAD approved!!!

August 5, 2005 Received appointment letter for AOS interview: October 20, 2005

October 20, 2005 AOS Interview APPROVED!

He will need to show the NOA when re-entering the U.S. after his GC expires. He should show his expired GC as well as the NOA (for the I-751) when re-entering the U.S. after foreign travel.

Some people get the stamp (like us) because they never got the NOA.

Good question as according to law you are supposed to carry your GC at all times. At the same time you have to submit your original GC with the I-751!

According to the instructions for the I-751 you only need to send a copy of the front and back of the GC.

9/17/07 Mailed in I-751 to NSC

10/15/07 Received NOA - Case transferred to California

12/27/07 E-mail stating that new card is ordered

12/31/07 10 year Green Card received! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

8/22/08 Sent in N-400 for naturalization

11/19/08 Passed the interview

1/12/09 Received letter about oath ceremony

1/29/09 Oath Ceremony - US Citizen!!

1/29/09 Changed status at Social Security office, applied for US Passport

Oops I stand corrected! However! What if the GC is expired! Sorry that's what I was thinking of!

I guess you have to carry the NOA1 or get a stamp in your PP and carry the PP at all times?
