It's been over a week since our AOS interview.

I know I sound impatient and I am. We had our interview over a week ago and still nothing n the mail. I thought they would have reviewed the file already and gave us an answer. Does the file stay in chicago now or does it go back to California Service Center? I hear the CSC is really backed up with applications. Hope this doesn't effect our papers. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

u never got approved on ur I-130 since u filed it ??

and how do u know ur I-130 under investigation ? i sent my I-130 In June 2004 and i never got anything on it till we sent our AOS so, they transfer it from CSC to my local office for a stander interview. and it will be 1 interview for AOS and I-130 hope everything will be all right. so did u got approved on ur I-130 or no ?

No, the I130 was not approved as of the AOS interview. I received a letter after investigating myself on why it's pending. They told me the are doing the standard investigation. Well it's been going on since April, 2006. Anyway, the questions were very easy. He asked my husband where he was from, where he was born, his d.o.b. and when we first met. He asked me what date did i get married. and some other things i forgot. He never lifted his head from the paper as he checked off some things as he asked questions. It was pretty short. When is your interview? Yes, the AOS and I130 are together. But if they are investigating pending name check or whatever, they could still continue it if they wanted to. So don't know anything as of yet.

let them call you, then don't answer...play hard to get it drives them wild.

I think calling them this early in the stage would probably leave me answerless. What happens to the file once the AOS interview is completed? Does it stay in chicago or does it go back to California?

Usually it takes a few weeks for the GC to arrive, at least from what I've heard around here...

The counselor said he would get in contact with us by mail. That was it.

I would imagine it is security checks or name check. It's been going on since april, 2006. I understand that if the AOS interview went well, the counselor could push the I130 to be approved. I don't know.

You should wait about I don't know 30 days, and if there is nothing make an infopass appointment to find out about you I-130 and hopefully get things moving (unless it's FBI name check in which case there isn't much you can do).

Our interview was in Chicago where we both live. Where does the file go from here? Does it return to the USCIS in California? That's where my I130 lay dormant until AOS interview.
