I just got a package of everything I need from my fiancee. Unfortunately, she and the place where she got her photos taken must not have understood what I meant when I said 2 inches by 2 inches. I told her 5.5 centimeters by 5.5 centimeters. The photo appears really small. It is 3.5 cm right to left and 4.5 centimeters up and down. What should I do? Can I get the pictures blown up at a walgreens or CVC? Or should she retake them. I think it might be better if I just send the thing in the way it is. What do you guys recommend? 2) Also, her hair is gelled back. Is this OK?

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

Looks like you are just filing the I-129F.

You may get an RFE and might delay the process.

If such photos are submitted at the US consulate they will outrightly deny those pictures and you'll have to go out and get them done on time.

If I were you I would get them done RIGHT to avaoid last minute stress.

You might want to have her re do the pics. the same thing happened to me and i had to get them redone. Have your fiance take the passport photos at a place near the embassy like someone else said. Atleast there they may know how to do them correctly since they might be the place to do them alot.

good luck.

if you send the way they are you will prolly get an RFE which will delay your case longer than redoing the pics

I had the same problem, but i prefer re-do my picture for not having a RFE.

Pay attention: 2"*2" = 5.08 cm by 5.08 cm

1 inch=2.54 cm

God luck

As mentioned above, the conversion for the inch is 2.54 cm. Therefore the actual height from chin to top of forehead must be a minimum of 2.54 cm to a maximum of 2.85 (1.125 inches).

Just an idea, if the actual photo area of the face, chin to forehead, is correct, you could always modify the background to make it bigger, I'm sure a photo shop could do this for you (ie you would only be extending the canvas size, white background portion of the photo - rather than modifying or enlarging the actual picture).

I had the same problem but I sent it in along wity my I-129F. According what I read here, the photo for G325A is not as critical as the one for an interview in the consulate. Good luck.

We have the same problem, like a week ago we realized that we sent the wrong size (we even open a post here about this -> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...;#entry1166262), and some people says that, as ANJING, in this point they don´t care so much about the dimensions, but they will do at the embassy. However, if I were you, I would re-take them, I would prefer to send them in the correct size than be like we are... shaking  and worrying for a possible RFE.

Expect a possible RFE for new photos

i think you're ok. this is the only dimensions required for the photos in the I-129f instructions. page 3 section:8b

Give USCIS a passport-style color photograph of yourself and a passport-style color photograph of your fiancé(e), with both photos taken within 30 days of the date of filing this petition. The photos must have a white background, be glossy, un-retouched and not mounted. The dimension of the full frontal facial image of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photos should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair in 3/4 frontal view. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print the name (and Alien RegistrationNumber, if known) on the back of each photograph.

Are you going to feel good about that statement if they get an RFE???

to the OP, youve been adviced by more than enough ppl to redo the pics or you will get a possible RFE, and those can take a long time to recieve and send back. It will save you more time to just redo the pics.

yes. i'm feeling pretty confident about it, since it came from the instructions on the form being filed at this point of the process.

If the actual dimentions on the photo are not the required dimentions, then they will get an RFE.

yes i know that. that is why i posted the part of the intructions w/ the required dimentions. nowhere does it say 2x2 on the I-129f. the 2x2 specific dimentions don't come until medical & interview forms.
