Hi there,

When entering the US on a K1 visa would it be better to book a round trip ticket (those are way cheaper) or should it be a one way. Just wondering if any of those are better concering the immigration at the POE. I was just thinking that there might be problems if you have a round trip booked since you can't go back. On the other hand maybe the immigration office would consider it a problem that there is no return flight in a one way ticket because the visa is only a temporary one.

Best regards

Phil

How would the CBP officer know if you have a RT ticket or not? Do you present your tickets to the CBPO when entering?

YMMV

They might ask for an itinerary, they did that to me before. Just wondering what people are doing concering their flights.

If you buy a round trip ticket, make sure the first leg of the trip is the one that is used. If not, the second leg will be cancelled. CBP doesn't care either way because they don't know.

There's your sign... different visa, different expectations... a much bigger deal for a tourist visa or VWP entry....

YMMV

I always bought return tickets, including when I flew out for the 'last' time, because they were in fact cheaper than buying a one-way at the time! Not sure why?! I never got questioned about my travel arrangements. I'm sure an immigration officer won't worry if you have a ticket to your former home!
