People just copy images online and manipulate the pictures. The original pics are fine. Just 'right-click' on any image on the web and 'save-image-as' to save it to your hard drive.

I think the issue there was not alteration of the pictures but the use of them for unauthorised publication.

yeah. I was just explaining how it was done. You have to assume that any picture posted to the web will mis-used.

I have a recent picture in my signature. I know if I click on it- you see the big version. I'm not sure if that is what happens if others click on it.

It doesn't help that intellectual property laws are complex, and for all that rather difficult to enforce for anyone but a large company.

For example, if someone were to lift your pictures and attach them to an article they are writing. Without seeking your permission, or that of the site owners.

This is exactly why there are no pictures of me or Sid on the web, and this is why I would never disclose our real names on any websites. You won't believe what people can do once they have even a tiny bit of your personal information...
