14 months. 14 damn months of real estate hell, but today we finally CLOSED on the sale of our overgrown ranch in the suburbs.

Next Friday we close on a wee bungalow in town - a downsizing coup-de-grace bargain located four blocks from Wes' work and six blocks from my parents home.

Don't let anybody tell you it isn't a buyers market. There's so much inventory out there it's unreal and buyers want a spotless home in perfect condition for a bargain-basement price. Our buyer was shite but he was all we had - we gritted our teeth for FIVE MONTHS while he struggled to find a buyer for his home.

Eventually he caved and sold his on a land contract so he could close on ours.

Thank God this nightmare is almost over. I just want to move and be out of this horrible real estate market - settle into my comfy chair and be thankful we came out of it alive.

Congratulations! Yes, it is indeed a buyer's market and will be for a while to come so you did well to get your house sold now - it is probably going to get even harder from here on for a while with the current mortgage situation. Our next door neighbour has had her house on the market for 18 months now and they are barely getting people in to look. (I don't want them to move - she is my catsitter, too and great neighbours! VBG).

Good luck on the move to your new home and may you be very very happy.

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.
