I grew up in Texas with US born Hispanics, went to school with them, worked with them, hung out with them, etc., etc. The left wing White liberals always love to talk about White racism. From personal experience I have heard some Hispanics say things about Blacks in my presence that would fit right in with the KKK. Hispanics have the equivalent of the "N" word in Spanish and I have heard it spoken frequently by some of them.

I saw the same with Blacks toward the Vietnamese/Cambodians in the 1970's when I was in the United Steelworkers Union and working in a manufacturing plant. There were quite a lot of Blacks in the union that hated the Vietnamese and Cambodian boat people, made fun of them and made their life miserable while at work. They didn't like White boys like me either and I have had to deal with with a ration of sh*t from time to time in my life.

I have to scoff at folks that contend that minorities cannot be racist because they lack the institutional infrastructure to implement it. Another liberal misconception/deception. It plays well in some venues, but I don't buy it.

Very similar to the Mazda car Miata except wit a soft "i". This is a local colloquialism that is probably not used in Mexico. I don't know. I have heard several American Hispanics in south Texas use it in a derogatory manner when refering to Blacks. There are several other terms, but I don't remember them.

Whether it is equivalent to the "N"word is splitting hairs. About like debating whether porch monkey or ####### is the equivalent to the "N" word.

ah, you mean mayate... im not familiar with that connotation, as in Mexico they use it for gays, not black people.. yeah.. unfortunately, there's this tension between blacks and hispanics.. i really dunno why.. but i've heard the hispanics use those stereotypes against black people.. specially while working in the hog plant and chicken plant.. thing is, at least in those plants, in that area, the stereotype was supported by stats.. cuz a black dude would only last about 2 weeks and then gone.. still is not a valid justification.. but that's what they see.. sigh

Not too surprising. One ethnic group has a negative opinion of another ethnic group. (cf., Irish cops vs. Italizan mafioso) In other news, the sky is blue.

With those two groups, ethnicity is incidental; the key words are "cops" and "mafioso." Law enforcement and criminal thugs usually have negative opinions of each other, regardless of what their respective ethnicities may be.

Sort of. You do have to ask maybe why the Irish by and large were becoming cops and the Italians by and large weren't, and certainly the stereotypes weren't just about law enforcement vs. mafioso.

Anyway, peejay's right. It's not really all that uncommon for one group to have prejudices about another group, especially if those groups are in economic competition. And there's already an existing stereotype about American blacks being lazy. So it's not surprising that a group that's stereotyped as hard-working believes that, too. And there's already a stereotype that the newest immigrant group always takes the jobs that should be going to blacks (illegal or legal doesn't seem to matter with the stereotype.)

It is like this, the people in this country who are lucky enuff to have white skin, like you, treat immigrants and black people bad, the more off color there skin is, the worse their treatment, from people like you. I am not blaming anyone, all I am doing is giving my opinion how the situation is. To blame someone, I would be giving fault. And that I did not do. Maybe you want to read again. Issues with Boo-Yah, no I dont have issues, just have read a few posts and just would rather Boo-Yah would quiet their mouth, make me and alot of people alot more happy.
