We been Documentary Qualified since Sep 2025 for a F2A visa for our daughter that is  in Thailand. We been waiting for the interview obviously. When we check the IV scheduling Status Tool it says 

"NVC is currently scheduling documentary complete cases with visas available from Mar 2026".  So how does this affect us? Did they lose our visa application?

Even after a case is current and DQed, there is a queue for some consulates.  NVC will schedule interviews, first, for those cases at the front of the queue.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Not sure.  You could send them an email or inquiry.

When we applied for my wife's daughter who is a Thai citizen under 21 and not married we did so as a permanent resident F2A rather than immediate resident ( me the husband a USA citizen). So I am thinking of withdrawing the F2A visa application that is currently waiting for interview and reapplying for the IR-2. Has anyone here ever done this? I would consider doing this just to speed up the process.

How old was the Daughter when you married her mother?

The IV scheduling tool isn't relevant to you until her PD is current, she won't be added to the line for an interview until that point. 

 

If you petitioned her, that possibly may still beat the current application even if you applied now. No need to withdraw the F2A app though, she could have two different relatives petitioning her at the same time.

 

But do bear in mind that Thailand is on the list of banned countries, so she couldn't get a visa at the moment even if her PD was current. Just something else to factor in, as you may just want to wait until the ban is lifted rather than petition her again - it could end up being a waste of money if there's no visa at the end of it anyway.
