2 years 2 months waiting on I-751

I filed for I-751 for my wife on October 2023 and still there has been no signs of movement. Is anyone on the same boat as us? We decided to pause on N-400 until we get I-751 out of the way.

As I said in response to your other comment, why wait?  Many times, an N-400 will push the I-751.  Our I-751 had been pending for 40....yes 40...months with NO RFEs.  My wife filed her N-400, and 4 months later both the I-751 and N-400 were approved during our combo interview.  I would file the N-400 immediately if she is qualified.

If you think you’ll be filing for N-400 eventually, there isn’t much reason not to do it, especially given that is has been known to bump I-751s along for people.

 

That said, don’t get your hopes up as it is far from guaranteed: I filed my N-400 almost a year ago and it has done precisely nothing to get my I-751 moving.

My i-751 was pending for 40 months and no sign of any movement. I filed my N-400 last August after reading it can speed things up and I had my combo interview yesterday with approval status updates on both of my cases today. I would highly recommend applying for N-400 on the chance it bumps your case along.
