If you think you’ll be filing for N-400 eventually, there isn’t much reason not to do it, especially given that is has been known to bump I-751s along for people.

 

That said, don’t get your hopes up as it is far from guaranteed: I filed my N-400 almost a year ago and it has done precisely nothing to get my I-751 moving.

My i-751 was pending for 40 months and no sign of any movement. I filed my N-400 last August after reading it can speed things up and I had my combo interview yesterday with approval status updates on both of my cases today. I would highly recommend applying for N-400 on the chance it bumps your case along.
