Do I need the physical copy of my Birth Certificate or it can be the digital PDF version of it? And does it need to be apostilled and legalized?
We're on the NVC stage for CR1 visa, preparing documents to upload.

We want to make sure we upload everything correctly on the NVC stage preparing documents and wondering if any of them (marriage license, police records, death certificate of 1st spouse, etc) must have an apostille?

Thanks for the replies. Can't find the information on embassy or Uscis websites

We can not find that information, that's why I ask on this app

Birth certificates have no security features as they are a copy taken from the book where they are registered.  Each copy must have a blue or black stamp with a legend stating “es copia fiel del original.”  Digital copies may not have the stamp but will be issued as a PDF with a digital signature.  Digital copies from the Province of Buenos Aires and the City of Buenos Aires will have a verification code.  Other provinces may have a verification code or scannable code.

Digital is accepted.

Apostille is never required in the immigration process but if it’s anything like Chile, they’re free and automatic with the digital version so might as well in case it’s needed in the future, but that’s a consideration outside of immigration.
