My husband is currently in UK, im in US.

My husband has had self harm from 2014 when he was young. He stated he was in Cahms, then to adult psychiatry team, and was discharged in 2018. He hasn't had any instances of SH since 2014/2015. They aren't deep, they're on the top of his arm. He's worried because of these, and the fact that they might take it as harmful behavior since he hasn't taken medication/therapy for it as he didn't need it.

We have a letter from his GP about it stating that he's in a much better place, full time work, and managing well. That he remains on no medications, no thoughts of SH/Suicidal ideation, and poses no risk of harm to himself or others. That relapse is unlikely.

We're planning on him getting another letter from a private Psychiatrist to be safe, and potential letters from people he knows that hes stable, etc.

Is this enough evidence? Is there anything else that he'd need?

Should be fine. My teenage daughter had very recent SH scars and was on Sertaline at the time of our medical in London, wasn't an issue at all. Just be upfront about it, tick the relevant box on the questionnaire and hand the letter over.

Good luck.

I'm sure it will be fine, but my husband isn't. The only thing is hes never been on meds for anything, and worries that will harm our case.

Thanks!

I'd imagine that would be a positive, not a negative. My daughter's SH was within the previous year and it wasn't an issue at all, they just asked her why and she explained. There are other threads on the same subject with lots of other SH'ers who've had no probs with the medical, maybe get your husband to sit and have a read of those to reassure him.

Best of luck.
